She was not there. It had been a few hours since the party started and he had not sensed her at all. Sebastian could not even hide the disappointment he felt. He had hoped he would find his mate again, but it seemed he had hoped too much. He had been spending most of the night in the front area of the house, hoping that when she arrived, she would move past him and he would catch her. Nobody that passed him was missed and yet he did not feel the pull or smell her scent. He had been with Maximus the whole time, who was talking joyfully with Stacey, the two laughing and kissing every now and then. They were having a good time, but he was not. Sebastian for the first time in his life was feeling a bit lonely. He knew where Kinley was. That was pretty obvious when they had seen him taking Tina up the stairs. He knew they had been close to doing it once at the pack house, so he was not surprised that Tina would try yet again. Not that they were a couple and would be going out. She just wanted to have the title of someone who got in bed with Kinley Moony. Most of the girls liked the idea of that title, but he wondered… how would this make Kinley’s mate feel when he found her. Not that it was any of Sebastian’s business anyway. He just hoped it would not backfire on his friend. In the living area, the music was pumping loud and a hoard of teenagers were jumping and dancing around. The smell of alcohol and sweat was filling the air and it was hard to follow any type of smell or scent in that room because of it. Most of the house was like that right now, and it had been the reason that Sebastian had set himself near the entrance, so he could sense to fresh smells better. Held in his left hand, he had a beer. He was not much of a drinker, and so it was still his first one. Alcohol had no affect on him at best of times anyway, because he had Alpha blood, so he did not see the point on drinking the stuff too much and only really enjoyed one or two drinks at a party like this. As he stood there with Maximus and Stacey, the sound of a fight reached his ears. Sebastian put his beer down and walked further into the house, seeing two wolves, one from Halfmoon and the other from Ravenwood, getting into a heated disagreement between some girl. Sebastian rolled his eyes and then let out a warning growl at them both. They stopped and looked around, seeing him there. He was pissed, it was meant to be a fun night for Kinley to celebrate and those two were messing it up. Either way, with his warning, they quickly departed and left each other and the girl alone. Crisis averted. “Seb!” a voice called to him. “Seb!” Looking around, he frowned, seeing his sister pushing her way through the crowed towards him. She looked a little stressed and so he moved to her quickly, to lessen the gap sooner. “What is wrong?” he asked. “I don’t want you to be too pissed… but… I heard… Julian is here.” she stated. “What the f**k is that crazy i***t doing here?” Maximus gasped coming over to them. “I thought Halfmoon banished him.” “They did.” Stacey said with a nod and frown. “He is a rouge now.” “So why is he here?” Nathanial asked coming over as well. “I have no idea, but lets search for him, get him out of here.” Sebastian stated. They all agreed and as a small group, they started making their way around the house, looking for Julian and trying to sniff him out. Sebastian was not sure how true the information had been, he could not smell Julian anywhere and he knew for a fact that if a rouge was there, they would have sniffed them out right away. They went through the whole house, checking all the rooms, aside from the one Kinley had gone into. They could not find Julian. They went to the living area and search every single werewolf that was there dancing and hanging out. He was no where to be found. The same in the kitchen and dinning area. He was in neither of those places. “Outside maybe.” Maximus stated. “Right.” Sebastian agreed. “What is going on?” Kinley spoke behind them. They all turned at the same time, seeing him as he was before going up stairs, shirt and jeans on. Though his hair was messy, he did not even seem to act like he just got himself laid. Tina was behind him, red in the cheeks. She was the one making it obvious. Sebastian had not time for what they had done with each other. It was not his business anyway. He quickly told Kinley that somebody told Abagail that Julian was at the party and they were hunting for him. Sebastian could tell Kinley was not happy with this news and he knew when Julian was located, they would not go friendly on him. As they started towards the back, Sebastian had this strange feeling fill him, the feeling of dread, like something was not right. He was worried, because he did not trust Julian and he feared that the guy may be trying to do something to the packs at the party. If there was one place to hit and do damage to a pack, it was at a party where all the teenagers were gathered. Sebastian did not like the idea at all. Just as they reached the back door, Sebastian gasped, his senses knotting together in a painful way. He was an Alpha and he knew something was not right at all. He bent over, trying to catch his breath, his friends standing next to him, asking what was wrong. He could hardly speak, as the sensation near crippled him. He took a step forward and almost stumbled. “What is wrong!” Abagail spoke worriedly. “Something is not right… something is wrong within the pack.” He breathed. It took Sebastian a good few minutes to gather himself together again. It had not been pleasant and he could still feel the tingles of that horrible feeling. He could not give in to it though. He had to locate Julian as he was sure more then anything now, that guy was surely up to something and Sebastian was worried for everyone at the party. They moved on outside, glancing around, taking in everything and everyone. Oddly though, there seemed to be nothing wrong out in the yard, neither by the pool. Where was he? It made no sense. Sebastian was not feeling right, his senses were going crazy, and he knew, he knew he had to listen to it, to know that something was very wrong. Trying to zone in on his hearing, he forced the sounds of all the happy partying people out of his mind and chose to focus more on anything else. He heard girls crying over boys. Some guys confessing their confusion over guy things. He could hear a few heated disagreements between wolves. He could hear a growl and what sounded like a thump of some sort. “The pool house!” he stated. They moved quickly, making their way cross the yard, past the pool and towards the small building that was meant to be zoned off from anyone going. Some tried to speak with them as they went, but none of them, not Sebastian, not Maximus, Nathanial, Kinley, Stacey, Abagail or Tina stopped. They were on a mission, and that was to get Julian out of the party, even if it means he had to call his father. As the got closer, the sound of what was almost like a small pop hit their ears. All of them stopped for a second to gasp and cover their ears, before they heard a further growl. The feeling of dread intensified in Sebastian and he did not waste any more time. He rushed forward, coming to the pool house and pulling the door open. He quickly stepped inside, hunting for Julian, smelling him very clearly now. However, what else hit him made Sebastian freeze in horror. “What the f**k are you doing!” he growled, full Alpha power rushing through him. “Oh my god.” Stacey said weakly behind him. Sebastian had not time to think. Julian turned and the moment he saw who was there a wicked smirk crossed his lips, as he stood up, not even caring how he was exposed to them. He took one second and then rushed towards their group. Sebastian was not taking any chances, as sick as he felt, he needed to deal with the situation and before Julian even knew what came at him, Sebastian raised a fist at his oncoming face and smashed him heavily on the nose, a shriek escaping Julian’s mouth. “Fix him!” he ordered. Moving past, he quickly made his way to the place Julian had been when they entered. His breathing was tight and painful, his stomach was twisted in pain and he was fighting hard to keep the tears from his eyes. It was meant to be a good night, a fun night, and yet Julian had come and ruined it completely. Ignoring the noise behind him, Sebastian felt like he was about to crash and burn, to break down, but he had to hold himself together. “Adira.” He whispered to her, seeing her flinch, his voice shaking as he spoke. “I wont hurt you… I wont… I promise.” Reaching out, Sebastian could see his hands were shaking, as he pulled the heavy tape that was over her mouth away, seeing how red and blistered the area was. Even his fingers stung. Wolf bane! He pulled the material that was in her mouth out and then started to undo the ropes that bound her wrists to the head of the bed. She was in a horrible state, face bloody and bruised and swelling. Her body was just as battered and he knew, he was not stupid, to know that she had gone through something so horrible, that it was going to really mess her. The moment he pulled the gag out of her mouth, she was coughing, gasping for breath, so weak she could hardly move on her own. She vomited up blood, her whole body shaking. Sebastian want to help her, but he did not know what to do. “Adia.. stay with me… I will get you to Doctor Shelt.” He told her softly. He gripped a sheet from the bed, wrapping it around her, to protect her… which he felt he had completely failed at doing. The moment he moved to pick her up, Adira coiled in pain, and he was sure if she had more strength she would have been screaming. He held her protectively in his arms, against his body, everything in him screaming, tearing into pieces. She tried to speak, to say sorry to him, but before she could really put a full sentence together she went unconscious. He knew his sister was there, scared out of her wits and he looked at her with sorrow in her eyes, sad she had to see such a situation. Julian was on the floor, Nathanial pinning him down. Sebastian did not need to give them orders, they would know what comes next. Knowing he could not delay things any further, he made his way out of the pool house, not paying attention to any of the looks the party guests gave him, as he pushed past everyone at a run and went through the house, into the street and made his way as quickly as he could to the pack hospital. Doctor! Get everyone ready NOW! He ordered in mind link even before he arrived, to make sure that no time was wasted when he arrived. Coming from the Beta house, he reached the hospital in ten minutes, rushing through the doors. “Sebastian!” Doctor Shelt gasped when he saw him. “What… what happened?” “She needs help, please… she’s dying… it’s serious!” Sebastian begged. “Ok, put her on the bed, we’ll take her straight into theatre.” He replied getting all professional. “Doc… please… save her…” Sebastian said in a weak whisper. Nothing more was said between them. Sebastian stood there in the cold empty waiting room, blood on his top, blood on his hands, his green eyes looking lifeless as he watched Doctor Shelt and the nurses rush the bed that Adira had been placed on in through the heavy swing doors of the operation rooms. He had no idea what was going to happen now, if she was going to be ok… if she was even going to survive this attack. He could not handle it, he let the tears fall down his cheeks as he felt a hand on his back, the hand of his sister who had arrived minutes after him. She had to survive, they had to save her… otherwise… he could never forgive himself again for not protecting her like he should have.
