One night stand.

Aubrey took Freda to her apartment and she assisted Freda into changing her clothes to a black of hoodies and a white skirts. Aubrey also allowed her friend to peacefully rest on the bed. Freda at first had planned on taking a nap but the thought of what had occurred at the apartment of Jackson kept on playing in her head like a movie. Freda gazed at the ceiling as more tears streamed down her eyes. ‘Why did he leave me for my sister?’ She inwardly questioned herself but no matter how hard she tried to come up with an answer, there was no valid reason. ‘Why is life cruel to me?’ The entire world around her seems to freeze in time as she ponders on the good moments that she had spent with Jackson. “Freda, it's okay to cry. You don't have to hold it all in. Let it out. It's better than just staring up at the ceiling, trying to pretend it didn't happen.” Aubrey voice was low, but her message was clear: Freda needed to let her emotions out before they could truly begin to heal. The words of Aubrey instantly made Freda slowly fluster her wet eyelashes as she snapped out of her thoughts. Slowly, Freda averted her gaze towards her friend who was in her nightgown. “Wh… what time is it?” Freda stuttered as she questioned Aubrey. Aubrey glanced at her watch. “It's 8:02 p.m.” “H-huh?” Freda mumbled. “It… it was morning a while ago.” Freda uttered, trying to comprehend Aubrey statement. “Freda, you have been spacing out since the entire day. You need to snap out of your thoughts and compose yourself.” Aubrey kindly advised. ‘Sigh!’ Freda sighed loudly as she pushed herself up from the bed. She used the back of her hand to wipe the tears stain on her cheeks before exhaling loudly. “I want to go to a club.” Freda boldly uttered. ‘Exhaling! “I understand that you want to do something, anything, to distract yourself right now, but going to the club isn't a good idea. You're still raw from everything that's happened, and I don’t want you to make rash decisions.” Aubrey was trying to make sure that Freda doesn’t do something that she was going to regret later. “Please. I promise that I just need the sound of music to clear my head from…” Before Freda could complete her sentence, Aubrey quickly chipped in. “No!” She firmly uttered. “I won’t allow you.” Freda tried all that she could do to convince her friend but it was to no avail. Having no other option, all she could think of was to wait for her friend to go to her night shift. And finally, an hour later, Aubrey carried her handbag as she made her way towards the door of her apartment. “I already prepared some porridge for you so eat it before taking a nap, okay,” Aubrey uttered before turning around to glare at Freda. “Also, I kept some painkiller at the bedside table so please drink it after having your meal, okay? I am also going to call you later to check up on you.” Following her statement, she stepped out of the house, shutting the door behind her. ‘Pfft!’ Freda breathed out as she headed straight to the bathroom where she took a warm bath. Stepping out of the bathroom, Freda dried off the water on her body before proceeding to open the wardrobe of Aubrey. Without thinking twice, Freda grabbed a black short and as she swiftly wore it, it ended above her thigh. Exhaling! She grabbed a pair of white belly shirt and with that, she wore her slippers before stepping out of the apartment. The night wind blew past her body, allowing her black hair that had fallen above her shoulder to dance in accordance with the wind. Freda's eyes roamed around the busy night street in search of a nearby club because she didn’t want to stay out too late. Just as if heaven had heard her silent prayer, the loud sound of music from a building suddenly caught Freda's attention. She wrapped her hands across her stomach, hastening her steps until finally, she finally arrived at the club. The loud sound of booming music echoed through the entire building as different individuals danced to the sound of the music. The club has a colorful beams of neon bulbs dancing across the pulsing crowd. Freda gulped down her saliva as she navigated through the crowd until she arrived at the mini bar inside the club. Freda took her seat before wrapping her legs across each other, as she quickly pulled her phone from within her handbag before going through the headlines of the day. "Jackson Quinn, CEO of Envrts firm, proposes to Hannah Addison, daughter of CEO Kalrn, on his birthday." As the eyes of Freda roamed around the trending topics online, tears slowly began to make their way out of her eyes. “Hey! What drink would you like?” Slowly, Freda raised her head only to see a man who seemed to be in his mid-thirties. His appearance was flawless, his black crew-cut hair neatly combed, his crisp white long-sleeved shirt and black trousers exuding an air of sophistication and authority. But it was his ambers eyes, fixed with a fierce intensity on Freda, that truly commanded the room. The man had just questioned Freda about what drink she would like and his question had caught her off guard. “I… I don’t need anything,” Freda mumbled, using the back of her hands to wipe the tears that had kissed her cheeks. ‘Interesting!’ The young man thought to himself. He visited this club because he wanted to have one last fun before he took his life seriously, and all through the time that he was inside the clubhouse, ladies had been throwing themselves at him. But there, his eyes caught a glimpse of a lady in black shorts and a white belly shirt. For an unknown reason, he finds her attractive and he decides to walk up towards her. “I noticed that you have been staring at your phone for quite some time now. How about I take you to a place that would make you forget all your worries.” He purred, his voice was low and seductive as he slowly reached out his hands and placed it above Freda's thigh. ‘Boom!’ Unexpectedly, the heart of Freda suddenly began to beat rapidly beneath her shirt and just as if she was compelled, she rose from her chair, allowing the man who she knows nothing about to lead the way.
