Immediately Hannah kicked Freda out of Jackson's apartment, the cloud in the sky immediately began to turn dark. The once bright and beautiful sky was filled with dark clouds as mighty wind began to blow, almost as if the heavens were upset with the turn of events. Freda gulped down her saliva as she continued to remain still, pondering if all that had happened to her was just a dream or if it was some sort of nightmare. Then, an ominous thunderstorm struck the sky, its lightning reflexes were so bright in the sky and within the next seconds, a heavy downpour of rain began. It droplets landed above the clothes of Freda but she kept standing, hoping that someone… at least anyone would just wake her up from the cruel nightmare that had befallen her. The rain droplets drenched Freda's hair and clothes, clinging them to her body. ‘Ding Ding!’ Amidst the relentless downpour, Freda's phone began to ring, the piercing sound cutting through the noise of the rain, prompting her to avert her gaze towards her side pocket. For a while, Freda gaze at nothing in particular but the ringing tone from her phone was able to snap her back to reality. Slowly, she pulled her phone away from her pocket and without gazing at the caller ID, she promptly picked up the phone call, placing it beside her ear. "Freda, don't look at the news, okay? And please, share your location with me right away. I'm coming to pick you up." The voice on the other end of the call was urgent. Freda sighed, realising that the voice on the other end of the phone belonged to Aubrey, her closest friend and confidante. Aubrey and Freda had been friends since their high school days. Despite the fact that Freda hadn't attended college like Aubrey, their friendship had never wavered. “Hey! Why are you not saying anything?” Aubrey inquired of Freda. “Where are you?” She went on to question. Once more, Freda remained quiet, unable to bring herself to answer the questions of Aubrey. “Hey! What’s going on?” Aubrey questioned with a curious tone. “I… I want to wake up from this dream, bestie.” Finally, the voice of Freda was heard, but from her quivering words, Aubrey could guess that Freda was crying. “You are at his house right?” Aubrey questioned and before Freda could even speak up, Aubrey suddenly uttered a reassuring word. “I am on my way to his house so wait for me, okay.” Following Aubrey's statement, she hung up the phone call, leaving Freda to ponder within herself once more. She was still deep in thought when the faint footstep from behind her was suddenly heard. Slowly, Freda turned her gaze around. It was Hannah and Jackson and they had a big black umbrella to shield them from the rain. “Jack… Jackson. Please tell Hannah that you truly love me.” Freda sputtered, rushing towards Jackson as she grabbed his wrist. “Tell her that you want me, and only…” “Get your filthy hands off me!” Jackson yelled, shoving Freda onto the wet ground. Quickly, Freda rose as she tried to plead with Jackson but the more she pleaded, the more she was being shoved onto the ground like a piece of garbage. Jackson sneered at Freda, his words dripping with scorn. “You're delusional, Freda,” he said, his gaze full of contempt as he climbed into his car. “I will never love you.” Without another word, he slammed the door shut. Beside him, Hannah slid into the passenger seat, and her silence shattered Freda heart. Jackson accelerated the car engine as he drove out of the compound, leaving the devastated Freda on the wet ground that he had shoved her into. “Arrrrghhh!” Freda cried out, slamming her hands on the ground which caused water from the ground to splash onto her body. “What did I do to deserve such a thing? Who did I offend in this world? Why don’t I ever get to live my life happily?” As Freda continued to question herself as she cried out loud, the raindroplet collided with the tears on her cheeks while her heart felt as if it was being hit with a hammer. Freda kept wailing in the rain until eventually, an hastened footsteps was suddenly heard rushing towards her. She raised her gaze, only to meet worried eyes of Aubrey. Within a swift motion, Aubrey rushed toward Freda as she lifted her off from the ground. “Let’s get out of this shithole,” Aubrey uttered. With no strength left in Freda, Aubrey decided to carry Freda on her back until she stepped outside Jackson's compound. Hastily, she set Freda onto the back seat, before making her way into the driver seat. “You…” Aubrey's words trailed off for a brief moment as she contemplated how to start her statement. “Bestie, remember how you always say that since… umm… well, at the hospital, I have finally seen a sperm donor.” Aubrey began. She has always known that even though Freda fancy to have a family, she also wishes to have a kid. Two years ago, Freda had confided in Aubrey, her best friend, about Jackson's fear of impregnating her. She had explained that Jackson had suggested they use a sperm donor. When Freda had first told Aubrey about Jackson's proposal, her friend had been strongly against the idea. Aubrey couldn't understand why Jackson, a seemingly healthy and vibrant man, would be so opposed to having children with Freda. In her eyes, his insistence on using protection every time they were intimate was a red flag. “Freda,” Aubrey began, her voice full of concern. “Do you want to go to the playground? Or we can go to our favorite restaurant and get your favorite meal. Whatever you need right now, I'm here for you…” “I want you to take me home. I’ll sleep till my head cools down, and after that, I want to get laid by a hot guy so that I can get Jackson away from my system.” The words of Freda sounded so composed, but behind the composed tone lies a broken heart that needs a lot of amendment.
