KILLIAN'S POV. After convincing myself he wasn't some ghost standing in front of me, I figured it was safe to invite Marshall in for a while. Too many years had passed. Too many questions had gone unanswered. I finally stepped back. "Come with me." Marshall hesitated for only a second before nodding. We crossed the street in silence and entered the hotel. The night receptionist looked up as we walked in but didn't ask any questions. Good. I wasn't in the mood to explain anything. A few minutes later, we stepped into my room. I quietly shut the door behind us. Neither of us spoke. Marshall looked around the room before letting out a quiet breath. "So..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "This is... strange." I folded my arms. "You could say that." He gave a small laugh.
