KILLIAN’S POV. The knock came just as I was finishing the last file on my desk. I didn’t look up. “Come in.” The door opened and I already knew it was him before I saw him. His scent always carried first—restless energy, impatience, trouble. But this time Mira was with him, and that made me pause and finally lift my eyes from the desk. “What is it?” I asked.
