~~Zeke’s POV~~
I have finally set a date to meet Aurora, now if I can only make it through the next couple days. My anticipation has me so distracted and off my game. I can tell my Father is wonder what the hell is wrong with me, but I can’t tell him. If he knows that I am going to meet a human for a date, he will be furious and find a way to stop me. I just have to find away to get off the pack land for a few hours without anyone alerting my Father.
Although that shouldn’t be too hard since my Mother and Father are preoccupied planning this stupid masquerade ball. I am so irritated that they think parading a bunch of she wolves in front of me is going to do anything to help me , expecting me to pick one to be Mate after just speaking to them for a few minutes. How am I supposed to find the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, this isn’t a job position I am filling it is my life!
I shake my head to clear it, I refuse to let them ruin my night, especially since I have been waiting for this night ever since I first spoke with Aurora.
I leave a little earlier for the bar not being able to contain my excitement. Castiel, however, has been quiet the last couple days and hasn’t let me know how he feels about tonight. I know it must be scary for him to consider a human as a mate. I have only heard a few instances that the Moon Goddess has gifted a human as a Mate but they are not talked about a lot. I have no idea how the wolf manages with out having a Mate with a wolf counter part. I only hope he understands that this is something I need to do, especially if I am expected to randomly select a Mate in a couple weeks if I don’t find one before then.
The bar is small and cozy, nothing to extravagant but perfect for getting to know someone. I lean against the bar with a beer in one hand and decided to read some emails to pass the time. I was scrolling aimlessly when the scent of lavender mixed with vanilla filled the bar. Castiel begins to stir restlessly, which surprises me since he has been so quiet lately. He is fighting to come to the surface and see for himself who the scent is coming from. He manages to break through but only for a moment. I look to see what he was looking at and I see Aurora standing there intently studying me.
I can’t take my eyes off her, as my heart begins to beat harder and my breath gets caught in my lungs. She is so beautiful, her honey brown hair shines in the light and bounces as she begins to walk towards me. Her light creamy skin looks irresistibly soft and her eyes are like sapphires that dance in the light. Castiel begins to howl in my mind, pacing back in fourth with excitement.
As soon as she makes eye contact with me she immediately brings her eyes to the ground trying to avoid it, but before she did I caught a glimpse of the sadness behind them. It takes me off guard for a moment, causes Castiel to whimper and me to wonder what could possibly make such a beautiful creature so sad and insecure that she can’t meet my gaze?
I watch her continue to make her way across the bar. Her body glided across the floor effortlessly. I watch as the heads of the other males in bar turn as they watch her walk by. Castiel lets out a low growl and I remind him we are amongst humans and need to behave.
When she is close enough to me, I gently reach out and grasp her chin raising it to make her look up at me. I lean down so are faces are seductively close and my lips brush her ear as I ask her “ why do you hide your beautiful eyes my angel?” She doesn’t answer but blushes three shades darker. It is so cute how shy she is.
We enjoy a couple drinks and talk about anything that pops into our heads. I love listening to her voice and have a hard time concentrating as I watch her mouth move. Then we head to the pool tables which I am almost sure she let me win. She spent more time watching me than playing at the game. I need to feel her close to me so I take her hand and lead her to the dance floor. Spinning her around before stepping to her so our body are touching, creating little flames wherever they meet.
I lean down and take her lips into mine, the kiss starts off slow but I can’t contain myself for long. It becomes more aggressive and more passionate as she feeds my fire by rubbing her hands down my chest and bringing them back up around neck. I wrap my hands in her hair holding her to me. Something makes her back away and I reluctantly let her go as I hear a low growl that I wasn’t sure which one of us it came from.
I walk her to her car, not wanting her to leave but I knew this night would have to end at some point. It is so hard though, werewolves are very possessive especially when they find their Mate. Their instinct is to immediately mark them so the world knows she are theirs. I can’t do that to Aurora she doesn’t even have a clue that I am a werewolf and me biting her neck with my massive k-9s may scare her away forever. Castiel is uneasy with this but knows what I am thinking is true. We watch her drive away as our hearts feel heavier. “It will be ok Castiel, we found her, we found our Mate!”
Now to give my father the news that the next Luna will be human. The knot form in my stomach thinking about this. Then Castiel says something that makes me wonder. “ are you sure she doesn’t have a wolf? I feel something deep inside her that calls to me, a familiar feeling, as if the other half of my soul is calling out?” I didn’t know what to say, can someone have a wolf and not know? I will have to look into this further, maybe talk to the elders and see what they have to say.
