Chapter 7: Threats

1732 Words
Crystal rushed into the room, and before she could close the door, Khalil attacked the door bursting it and entering. The shock on her face gave the prince a satisfying smirk on his face, he knew that he better stop her from doing anything stupid. "Now you listen carefully you little murderer, nothing gives you the right to walk out on me that way, I mean nothing, and the fact that you remain my captive shows that you owe me a lot of respect. Is that understood?" he inquired raising a brow at her. Nodding, she replied to him. Crystal is visibly tired of fighting for herself, being in Mount Paragon is clear proof that the Paragonian is going to kill her, she could as well just wait for her time to be killed. Standing at the center of the large room, the fresh smell of the evening breeze blew from the open window waffling her nostrils. The tingling effect was the best, but with this man in front of her, she could barely enjoy it at all. Khalil on the other hand stood at the door, looking at Crystal as she bowed her head to the ground. The fact that she didn't wrestle words against him made him be worried, he thought that maybe the girl was feeling uncomfortable especially with his presence in the room, so he decided to walk out of the room. Swirling on his back and facing the door, Khalil hesitated to open the door, he equally was stressed, doubting if it is worth it for him to leave. Once more, Khalil reconsidered the fact that he had made up his mind to be fierce with the girl, she was a great threat to his emotions, considering the fact that he had supported her several when Commander Austin had tried talking bad about her, he didn't even want to hear anything concerning Crystal, he just had to focus his mind on protecting her to the fullest. Prince Khalil cleared his throat drawing for attention as he tilted his head to look at the lady who stood in front of him with tattered clothes. An idea had just stroke his mind, and it fell in line with the fact that it is evening, so not use it to your advantage? I wondered roughly rolling his eyes. Like seriously, it is not a bad idea to invite this young lady for dinner, because she didn't feed well for one week, and food is important for someone like him. "I don't like how skinny you look," Prince Khalil stated plainly staring at Crystal's face hoping that his face will reflect the emotions in his heart. Of course, as expected it did, Crystal looked like someone who is going to pass out from what she just said her flesh became white as she looked white. A glance at her and Khalil could know that his words had absolutely reached her heart, and there is no doubt about it. He had not finished with what he is saying, so after the short pause, he picked it from there, continuing his solemn and provocative words, aiming at Crustal to put her in a devastating mood. He was satisfied already by her reaction, so he tried relaxing the matter, before striking her so hard. "I acknowledge the fact that my staffs had fed you poorly for the whole week, it is a pity, but I think you deserve it, to an extent though, and the more you continue being a criminal and being suspective, you might be starved to death," he added. Crystal gasped he shock. He laughed. Her reaction was a dumb one, and it only succeeded in making her glare at him as she had something to tell him__fortunately for him, she has stopped being insolent a long time ago. "Why didn't you allow me to die? it is not too late you know? you can still kill me, at least, your heart might be at peace that you avenged your father's death," she spat daringly. Before Crystal could complete her sentence, prince Khalil stood in front of her with a long hard glare piercing her eyes as he pulled her hair causing her to whimper. "Ahh! that hurts," she complained. Crystal had every right to complain, Khalil was pulling her hair, willing her to look at him in the eyes. He hated having to repeat himself, especially to annoying ladies like Crystal. She was not his type, and whatever think he was going to do is ultimately her fault, she caused him to do it. Khalil is not pulling her hair because she might have killed the king, but then, it is because he reminded him of the pain that a small lady like her will kill a great warrior like King Khalil. Khalil knows himself so well, he can't allow himself to be mocked by this lady standing in front of him, he didn't want it to happen, not at all. After about a minute of holding Crystal on her hair and sensing her helplessness, he decided to allow her to be, these things weren't much needed, at least, not to when his anger has subdued a little. "Ehmmm! lady, in about half an hour, dinner will be served, I assume that it is enough time for you to prepare yourself and dispatch from this foul odor that Is stuck on you," he explained. Crystal stood there in front of him mute, with no strength in saying anything. To her, she felt like Prince Khalil was too close, and anything could lead to him punching her across the face. This is something she doesn't want, and it might destroy her if he discovers that things aren't working his way. Finally, they decided to speak, and it came out as a whisper, she wasn't really sure about her voice, whether it is shaky or not, she just had to talk anyways. "Yes, Prince..." she trailed not wanting any trouble, she knew she was going to call him camel, so it is important that she just minds her own business and forget about the rest considering that it doesn't help that much. Khalil stared at Crystal blatantly, as if he wanted to say something else, but when he resolved that he wouldn't say anything till when they meet at dinner, he contemplated swirling around ready to go out of the room. This didn't happen because Crystal spoke, changing the mood once more. "I am not hungry, I think I will just bath and rest," she said. All prince Khalil did was chuckle. It was a burst of harsh laughter which was from his throat indicating that it is not a good one at all, therefore something was cooking up. At first, he looked at her with disgust as if thinking of a punishment to give her, he needed to punish her, she deserves it, the only thing is that when he thinks about one that she deserves it, he feels remorseful after seeing her pretty face and forgetting about it. Crystal at once noticed that the prince's mood had changed, it is evident it has, and the earlier she rephrases her sentence, the better it will be for her. Khalil has not shown any sign of violence towards her, not the least, and she prays deeply that he doesn't start it because she wouldn't be able to cope with people flogging her as if she was a thief. Before Crystal could say anything, Khalil asked in a threatening voice staring at her. "What did you say?" he inquired raising a brow at her. At this moment, Crystal found it difficult to swallow, it felt like something was clutched in her throat, she felt bad, yet had nothing to do about it. Crystal realized that saying the truth at this moment is the only good thing that she can do for herself, at least, for now. Summoning all the in her body, she decided to repeat what she earlier said. "If you do not mind, I would love to rest after bath," she exclaimed. Her eyes were on the told floor, she fumbled with her hands on her dress, trying her best to push these emotions behind. Deep in her, she knew she wanted to cry, she had the anxiety to burst out in tears, especially as she is aware of the fact that things aren't going well for her, neither is anything ever going to change. As Crystal had expected, Khalil's reaction was priceless, she felt like things weren't simply going to end up like that because he prepared a piece of his mind to feed her soul with it. "My little captive, you must have been confused when you heard me laugh in that kind of immoral manner, but then, I have a right to do so, because you are so funny. In fact, it baffles me so much that you have the guys to repeat that stupid sentence of yours, it sounded as stupid as you look," he spat directly in her face, staring at her in the eyes, watching what her reaction is going to be. Crystal didn't say anything, she was caught aback by his words, and he wasn't even done yet, he had a piece of his mind that he wanted to vomit every single bit on her face as if it was poisonous venom. After a brief pause with Khalil being sure that his previous words had sunk in the lady's mind, he continued with his harsh words aware that they were like daggers that could bruise not only her mind but also her soul. Grabbing her chin fiercely in his hand, he pulled it up to face her miserable-looking face. Making sure he had her full attention, he blurted out glaring at her deep coffee brown eyes that clad several emotions. "Now, I will tell you this, little wimp, this is not a plea, it is a command. Twenty-five minutes from now, I will walk in through that door, and when I do, I want to see you sheathe in that beautiful yet ugly fabric sitting at the edge of the bed. Is that understood?" he inquired raising a brow at her. Nodding, Crystal answered in a tiny weeny voice, "Yes, Prince Khalil," She said getting his name right for the first time.
