CHAPTER 11 - MY HEART YEARNS FOR YOU

After an hour they finally arrived at the Hyatt Residence. They were immediately greeted by the staff when they got off the car. Suddenly a man in a suit came walking fast towards them.

“Sir, here is what you requested, everthing has been put in place already.” He then handed a small paper bag to Liam.

The man was so polite when he talked to Liam, he was well mannered, it seems that Liam is very respected by the people around him, Jessy thought.

“Good, you may now leave and don't bother calling me about work unless you can't handle it.”

Liam then immediately grab Jessy's hand as they walk towards the elevator. Suddenly Liam stopped and looked back to Jack who was still bowing his head.

“By the way, this is Jessy. In the future, I want you to treat her as if she is me. understand?”

“Yes Mr. Spencer."

“Jessy, this is my personal assistant, Jack. If you need anything, you may call him at anytime.”

Jessy then took a glance at Jack and smiled. “Nice to meet you Jack.”

“It's my pleasure to meet you Ms. Scott. I’ll be of service to you then.”

“Finish what I asked you to do. Remember, I won’t go to the office today, so prepare all the papers I need to sign.”

Jack just nodded as Liam and Jessy headed for the Lift.

Inside he lift, on their way up, Jessy became curious about Liam. “What does he do? He seems to own a company, probably companies? Well, I’m sure he really is a busy man but he’s assistant doesn’t seem to be intimidated by him unlike the others. It seems that he have really known Liam for some time.” Jessy thought

“He’s been working for you for quiet sometime already, right?” Jessy asked.

“Yes, he’s been with me since my teen years. He was specifically assigned by my parents to assist me. He is actually more than just an assistant, he is like family already.”

Not long after, they arrive in their floor and headed straight to Jessy’s suite. “He seems to be a good man; a loyal one I think” Jessy added as Liam opened the door and nodded.

"A very good man indeed."

Inside, Liam handed the bag to Jessy that Jack gave him a while ago. He asked Jessy to open it and when she saw what was inside Jessy's eyes widened.

“For me?”

“I told you I’ll give you a new phone and besides you already gave me your phone so you need one”

“Impressive, your assistant is very impressive.” Jessy laughed “Thank you."

“Your new number is already registered in that phone; my number and all my other staffs' number are also there in case you need assistance. I have also asked Jack to block any incoming calls and messages from those people and a software is installed there so that they won’t be able to get your IP address. You know, in the event if they will try to track you.” He explained smoothly.

“But can you track me?”

“Yes, I am the only one allowed to track your location, I'm the only one who has your IP address installed on my phone. For your safety of course.” Liam answered honestly. “But if you don’t want to, I can ask Jack to terminate it”

“Ohh. I don’t mind. It’s okay” Jessy answered, but her thoughts were different “Why would I agree to such? Sshhss! Oh well, it’s the least I can do after all the help he gave me. Beside it seems, he wont exploit someone like me." She thought.

“Have some rest, you haven’t rested well for days. I’ll wait for you her and I’ll take you out for dinner when you wake up.” Looking at Jessy’s very tired and sleepy face.

Jessy yawn, as if confirming Liam's suggestion. "Thank you. I’ll go up then.” She headed up and took a glance at the man below. “Have some rest too, you’re as tired as me.” Jessy shouted and ran to change her clothes.

It was already pass 5PM when Jessy woke up. She immediately got up to wash and hurriedly went downstairs to look for Liam. She thought he already left, because it seems to be very quiet. But when her eyes went through the living room, she saw Liam sleeping peacefully on the couch.

She then took a blanket and placed it over him. She looked at him for awhile and thought.

“How can a handsome man, be so arrogant and aloft to others but be so kind and caring to me? I must be in dreamland.” She giggled on her thought then she pinched herself. “Ouch! No no no... this is really real!” she exclaimed quietly.

“He said he will take me out for dinner. hmmm. But he is still asleep. Of course, I can’t wake him up.” Jessy thought for a while and had a bright idea.

“My cooking is not that good but it’s not that bad as well, I guess I’ll cook for both of us then, this is my chance to treat him." She smiled and headed directly to the kitchen.

Jessy thought for a while what she will cook, but then remembered that Liam seems to have an appetite for seafoods and green vegetables so she gathered all the ingredients she needs. She then washed all the ingredients and prepared it all quietly so as not to wake up Liam.

As she was cutting the vegetable, she accidentally made a small cut on her finger and luckily it wasn't deep. She then quickly got some bandages and ointments from the medicine cabinet and continued her cooking.

After some time, the salad and home made dressing were done, so she started cooking the main dishes. She made steamed shrimps and stewed fish. The entire suite then begun to smell so deliciously. The aroma of the food quietly swept through Liam's nostril which awakens him. He then took off the blanket and sat up, looking at the direction of the kitchen he smiled and stood up to walk directly there.

Liam quietly stood at the back of Jessy, just admiring the busy woman, but she wasn’t able to notice him, at all. After some time, Liam cleared his throat which startled Jessy.

“Ahh! You scared me!” Jessy pushed Liam.

“Am I that scary? I was just clearing my throat” Liam laughed.

“I mean...” But before Jessy can even finish, he was cut off by Liam.

“I know, it’s just that every time you do something you are so focused.” He laughed. “Don’t worry I won’t do it next time."

Jessy then pushed him back to the living room. “Go, just sit there. I’ll call you when I’m done.”

But Liam was a bit persuasive and insisted on helping. “Don’t you dare help me; this is my treat to you.” She smiled.

Eventually, Liam then retreated and went back to the living room. He sat right across the kitchen area and looked at Jessy sweetly. He won’t let her out of his sight. He was enjoying the view “My heart just won’t stop flustering every time I see you, I’ll fight for your heart and won’t let anyone hurt it anymore.” He thought.

Jessy finally finished all the dishes and prepared the table for them to eat. Liam felt so helpless since Jessy won’t allow him to help. Soon Jessy called Liam to the table to finally eat.

“Well, I’m no chef but my cooking won’t poison you and it will still be palatable. Promise!” As she placed some salad on his plate.

“How did you know, I like these kinds of foods?”

“You really do?” Jessy exclaimed xcitedly, as her eyes brightened. “Well, I guess my observation is correct and my memory is till good.”

“Hmmm. It’s not bad at all.” Liam said. “I love it and don’t worry I’m not making it up” he smiled.

But his smile suddenly changed to a frown as his brows met. Jessy got so anxious that she might have added something he didn’t like.

“What happen to your finger?!” Liam asked a bit angry.

Jessy was relieved to hear that it wasn’t about her cooking. “Oh this?" While wiggling the injured finger. "I got a small cut while cutting the vegetables but I treated it already. It will heal soon.” she smiled.

“Treated? It’s still bleeding and the way you treated it won't make it heal fast.” pointing at the bandage that was stained with blood.

Liam stopped from eating and stood up. He got Jessy’s hand and brought her to the Bathroom and took out the medicine kit. Without even saying anything, Liam took off the bandage and washed her fingers while pressing on her wound, which made Jessy winced a bit. When the bleeding stopped, he patted it dry, applied some medicine on it and re-bandaged it.

During the entire time Jessy was just quietly looking at Liam, admiring every detail he was doing. “Is it too early to be infatuated to you? How on earth are you even doing this to me? I'm scared because you are making my heart yearn for you more.” she thought as a smile flowed on her face.

Liam finally finished treating her wound, and returned the medicine kit to where he got it.

“Next time be careful” he softly said.

Jessy just nodded and they headed back to the dining area and finished eating. Liam finished everything that Jessy prepared and she was very happy to see that he liked what she cooked. Liam volunteered to clear the table and washed the dishes. He didn’t allow her to help, and made her finger his reason for not allowing her.

Jessy patiently waited for him to finish and when he was done, they got up the 2nd floor and stayed at the balcony.

“How are you feeling?” Liam asked

“Me?” Jessy paused as Liam nodded.

“An honest answer? I’m actually not sure, but I guess you’ve helped me a lot.” Jessy smiled as she remembered what she thought a while ago when Liam was fixing her wound. Just like how he is fixing her now.

“I’m glad… I’ll be on a business trip in the coming days. Want to come? I'll be at peace actually if you'll come.”

“Business trip? I think it would be inappropriate for me to accompany you there.” She laughed. “And also I'm afraid that one of this days the companies in which I sent my application might soon call me for an interview, I badly needed the Job now more than ever. I can’t forever live in your place.”

“Did I ever asked you to leave? You can actually leave here as long as you want. And no, it wouldn’t be inappropriate, it would actually be nice having someone with me when I go on a trip.” he smiled.

“Even if you will let me leave here forever, I will still need a job. How am I supposed to feed myself and I don’t want to continue to leave here for free." Jessy frowned feeling a bit awkward. “Next time, if I land a job and I can earn leave credits then promise, if you still need someone to accompany you on your business trip then I’ll go with you.” She crossed her fingers and looked at Liam.

Liam only laughed and thought to himself “If I were to choose, I wouldn’t let you work anymore and just have you beside me”.

The night was deep but both of them continued to chat and get to know each other until the dusk of dawn.
