Soon the food Liam ordered has finally been served. Seeing the foods placed on their table one after the other, Jessy was surprised. All of it were to her liking. From the ceasar salad, pasta, ribs and coffee flavored desserts.
“How-” Jessy was to ask something but before she could continue Liam already answered.
“I’m a very observant person. I actually just noticed and I hope I’m right.” Liam smiled as he placed some salad on Jessy's plate.
What Jessy did not know is that Liam took extra notice on all things related to her. From the things she likes to the things that makes her happy.
“You’re good.” Jessy giggled as she confirmed Liam's kind gesture.
They soon ate their meal and had short chats in between. Getting to know each other and completing one another, they were like a real couple going on a date.
Liam accommodated all of Jessy’s needs, he made sure she ate well and that she is comfortable, always asking if she is okay. Even if Jessy won't say anything but Liam would always initiate to offer a hand and she was very flattered with his gestures.
As they finished their meal, Jessy was about to pay for the bill but Liam was quick to give his card to the staff.
“But I said I’ll pay this time.” Jessy said feeling a bit annoyed.
“Treat me with something else next time.” Liam stood up and held her up as he guided her down going to the Gazebo near the pond.
“Are we even allowed to be here?” Jessy asked.
“Don’t worry, I asked them if we can come up here for a bit. So you can appreciate the place up close.”
It was already dark and the Gazebo was at the middle of the pond. Other than the moon that was shining bright up above them, the only light that was lit around them comes from the 4-lamp post at the corners of the Gazebo and some twinkling lights around the pond.
Jessy was lost in daze; she can’t seem to understand what she is feeling as she looked around. She misses her parents a lot that it started to hurt her heart. She remembered Jacob who she thought was really there for her but in reality, was not. She loved him and treated him well but in return he only ended up hurting her. She didn’t see the signs in front of her, she was so broken to see his signs. That him distancing from her felt sureal, she thought it was impossible. This things made her feel so hurt that she started to clench her hand in her chest. But it seems there are no tears that would fall from her eyes.
She took a glance at Liam who was quietly standing beside her looking around. “Why is it I feel so safe and comfortable around him that my tears seemed to be afraid to come out.” She thought to herself. It seemed that the hurt she currently feels were quite more manageable when she is around him.
“Liam, can I ask you something?”
“Go ahead” Liam answered as he looked at Jessy.
Jessy cleared her throat and asked “Why are you doing this? I mean, why are you like this towards me? Did Auntie told you to do all these?" Jessy paused as he saw a puzzled look on Liam. She then looked away at Liam looking afar "Please don’t get me wrong. You barely know me; I don’t even deserve this kind of treatment.” Jessy added as she looked down.
Liam held Jessy’s chin and raised it. As their eyes met he said, “What you don’t deserve are all those terrible things that had happened to you. What you deserve are all these and all the good things life has to offer.” Liam said sweetly as he let go of Jessy and looked away.
“And no, Auntie only told me to accompany you that night. It's just that when I saw you, I just knew you deserve more” Liam then looked at Jessy “Jessy, you are worth more than you think, stop looking down on yourself.”
Jessy couldn’t hold back herself anymore and burst into tears. “I’m... I… uhmmm.” Jessy was lost in words it was the 1st time she heard someone told her those things. Liam then held her cheecks and wiped her tears.
“It’s just that, you’ve only known me for just a short time, but you're treating me like you’ve already known me for like forever.” Jessy smiled as tears continue to roll down her cheeks. “Other than my parents, no one has treated me like this.” Jessy forced a laugh as she felt a pain on her chest.
Liam looked at Jessy tenderly and thought to himself “Not just few days actually. If only you knew I have seen you a lot of times already at Auntie’s cafe. Maybe Auntie Su knew as well, the reason she asked me to finally come to you” Liam smiled at his thoughts.
“Come on, I didn’t bring you here to cry. If I knew then we should have gone home straight after eating” Liam teased as he tried to change the topic.
“Alright, alright. I’m sorry” Jessy smiled. “Thank you”
“For what?”
“For everything, for days like this.”
Liam then reached for Jessy’s hand and said “It’s getting late; I should send you home.”
"I will make sure that more days like this will come to you" Liam thought to himself as they headed to his car.
When they arrive at the Hyatt Residence, Liam immediately took out Jessy's grocery bags and accompanied her to the suite.
Inside the suite Liam continued to help Jessy unpack the goods they bought earlier. While Jessy arranged it in the fridge.
Not long after Jessy offered Tea to Liam and they began to chat in the living area. Jessy handed the cup to Liam while she took her cup of coffee. Jessy is over the moon a coffee drinker. She loves coffee at any kind.
“You should cut down your coffee it’s late, you might not be able to sleep.” Liam reminded her
“But I don’t drink tea.”
“You can drink water instead.” Liam mockingly suggested.
Jessy got up and placed the coffee she just brewed inside the fridge “Coffee is best when it’s cold. I’ll drink it tomorrow instead.” And headed back to her seat.
Out of nowhere, Jessy suddenly said. “Well, I really wanted to know more about you. But a part of me is holding back.”
“Holding back? Why is that so?” Liam asked as he smirked.
“I don’t know. Maybe I just want to know you the normal way. And not by asking” she smiled as she leaned on the back rest.
“That’s new.” Liam said “But I’ll be very willing to answer if there is something that will bother you. On the contrary, it’s actually better that way.” Liam smiled.
“What do you mean better that way?” Jessy asked.
“You’ll find out soon.” As he stood up “I better head back home, it’s already pass midnight. You have to rest.”
“I didn’t notice the time. You still have work tomorrow, right?” Jessy paused and shocked by what she just asked. “Uhmm I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to meddle with your whereabouts, I was just asking you don’t have to answer” as she looked away.
Liam then walked in front of Jessy “Yes, I have work tomorrow. But remember I own my time.” he laughs. “And no, you’re not meddling." Liam winked at her as he walked towards the door. "Come on, aren’t you going to accompany me out?”
“Right!” Jessy then walks towards Liam by the door.
“Make sure to double lock the doors and go to sleep already no more crying. You already reached your quota of tears for the entire year” teasing Jessy.
“Drive safely Liam and goodnight.” As Jessy waved at Liam while slowly closing the door.
