The street was wet due to the rain that happened earlier and the lights are already on as it was already pass 7:00 PM.
“Oh! I didn’t notice that I stayed so long at the cafe” as Jessy talked to herself. “Who cares, I’m on my own now anyway, might as well walk home.”
Jessy, walked through the sidewalk. Passing one lamp post after the other. She had a lot going through her mind and the pain she felt in her heart seems to linger strongly.
Not wanting to think of anything, she distracted herself by looking at her surroundings and enjoying the night.
Suddenly she heard someone calling her name.
“Oh, come on Jessy! Stop imagining! You already told him to stay away from you. Why would he still look for you!” She thought to herself.
“Jess! Finally, I found you! I have been looking for you everywhere. I was worried.” As Jacob wrapped his sweater to Jessy
“Wh... what are you doing here?! I told you not to look for me! Wasn’t it enough for you to hear me so broken over the phone that you really have to see me now?!!” as she took off Jacob’s sweater and walked fast.
“Jess, please” grabbing Jessy’s hands “Let’s talk, I don’t want us to end this way. I really care about you.” Jacob plead.
“You care? Is this how you care?? Do you have to hurt me this way?” Tears started falling again her cheeks.
“Please stop crying Jess, you know I don’t want to see you cry.” As Jacob tried to coax Jessy.
“Stop your foolishness, Jacob!” pushing him away “If you love me, if you care for me, then tell me. Why did you do this? Tell me Jacob, why?!” Jessy shouted at him.
Jacob fell silent for a while and spoke “I lost it. I loved you Jess. Yes, I did, but ever since your parents' accident, you were just not you. I felt like I lost you. And Renee was there for me.”
“FREAK!” Jessy shouted at Jacob. “I needed you, I told you to please wait and understand me. And this is what you did to me?” Jessy burst into tears. “Just leave, please. I don’t want to see you anymore.”
“Jess, please” reaching out to Jessy
“LEAVE!” as she pushed him to the ground and ran away.
Jessy ran as fast as she could, bumping in every person she come across since her vision is blurred with so much tears. Until she saw a quiet corner, where she hid herself from the people and from all the noise. She sat on the ground as she curled up herself sobbing her heart out. Then a voice came in front of her.
“uhmm, hey. You dropped something while you were running.” Handing the bracelet her mom gave her.
Jessy looked up “Oh, thank you for returning this”.
As she reached her hand to get the bracelet, her hand was suddenly grabbed and she was helped by the man to stand up.
“A lovely woman is not suited to sit in this dark corner alone” giving a handkerchief to Jessy.
Jessy took the handkerchief and wiped her tears.
“I’ll walk you out from here, it’s not safe. Some people are looking at you already” He said as he gestured her to follow him.
“Okay” Jessy answers, as she bows her head down and followed him from behind.
When they reach the well-lighted sidewalk, the man suddenly turned around and looked at Jessy who has still bowing her head.
“Where do you leave? I’ll send you home.” He calmly asked.
“No, it’s okay. I’ve caused you enough trouble by returning my bracelet and accompanying me out of the corner” she sighed. “I don’t even know you and you have been so nice.”
“I am Liam, you are Jessy. Right?” Liam let out a smile.
Jessy was shock “How... how did you know?” asking curiously.
Looking at the light he said, “Well, Auntie asked me to look for you. She was worried something might happen to you on your way home” as he looked at Jessy who was quite amused “judging by what I saw a while ago. I guess auntie was right that he asked me to follow you.”
Liam is a tall man in his 30’s, fair skin with a good built. He is type of guy that women would run after but would be intimidated to come near him.
“Auntie? You mean Mrs. Su?” as she looked up at Liam.
“Yes Mrs. Su” Liam smiled at Jessy.
“Oh… Uhmm… Thank you. I really appreciate it.” Bowing down her head to him again.
“So, where do you leave? I’ll send you home. Or else Auntie will not forgive me.”
“No need. Don’t worry I’ll explain it to Auntie that it was me who refused.” She paused for a moment and continued “I have bothered you enough, so I guess there is no need to send me home.”
“I insist.” Grabbing Jessy’s hand, “I can’t just leave you here and it’s getting late, come on”.
“Wait” Jessy stopped “uhm, would it be okay if you’ll accompany me to my old place?”
“Old place? Where?” Liam questioned.
“At the Parkson’s Residence, I used to live with my ex-boyfriend there.” She let out a big sigh, as she clenches on her chest, “but I guess it would be inappropriate if I still stay there, since he decided to have another fiancé”
“The guy, that was running after you? Was it him?”
“Yes. I feel so embarrassed that you witnessed such drama a while ago” letting out a sarcastic laughter.
“Well, if he really cheated on you, then he deserved what you did to him” as he tapped Jessy’s shoulder as if saying –You did a good job-.
They walked quietly going to a car that was parked not so far away. It’s a black Ferrari with 88 as its plate. He opened the door for her and got in the driver’s seat afterwards. Soon, the car finally took off.
