CHAPTER 14 - PLEASE WAIT FOR ME

At the Hyatt Residence, Jessy just finished cleaning the entire suite. She took her freshly brewed coffee and sat on a lounge chair near the glass wall. She pulled out her laptop from its bag and opened it. She then casually checked if she got any email invite for an interview, but unfortunately there is still none and Liam has not told her that someone called her for an interview.
What she does not know is that Liam have been long annoyed by Jacob’s never-ending calls and messages to Jessy using his number and different numbers. So, Liam literally burned Jessy’s phone not so long ago out of his anger.
Jessy planned to buy and replenish her stocks later but it has been raining non-stop. Bored and got nothing to do, so she decided to check on her social media, even if Liam told her not to.
“It wouldn’t be a bother if I take a quick look I guess. And besides I am so over them.” Jessy exclaimed to herself confidently.
When she finally logged in, she saw that she has dozens of notifications and messages. Some are from her friends and previous officemates, but most were from Jacob. She actually really did not want to read any messages from Jacob, but for some unknown reason she ended up opening some of it.
“Jessy please, where are you? Why won’t you answer me?”
“Why won’t you answer your phone? And now it’s unreachable! The heck Jes! You are really testing my patience!”
“Jes, I’m sorry about what I told you previously. I haven’t heard anything from you. I’m worried. Please reply.”
“Miss Jessy Scott! I demand you to answer my messages! I have been asking your friends with your whereabouts, but no one knows! Even your good friend Steffy doesn’t know.”
“You can’t hide from me Jessy! You know I will never stop looking for you!”
Jessy sighed! “Worried?! Worried my a*s! As if he cares! And he even has the guts to be mad at me, when he is the one at fault!” Jessy clenched her hands and gritted her teeth out of anger. “Why on earth did I even fall for him” Jessy felt so helpless.
She immediately disregarded her thoughts and deleted all of Jacob’s messages and blocked him. She was determined to get rid of him totally this time.
After which she opened the messages she got from her childhood friend Steffy, which she is very excited to read.
“BFF? Where are you? Jacob actually called a hundred of times asking me where you are, and hell I don’t know where you are! I’m worried. Please reply soon.”
“Jes? Are you okay? I think I know what happen. Did he cheat on you and you found out? I saw their photo’s together. Hey, I’m here for you. Okay. Please call me soon.”
“Jessy Scott! Are you really trying to make me insane thinking how you are! I have actually deleted and blocked Jacob’s number because he’s been bugging me non-stop! I even told Steve to get me a new number. BFF, please call me soon. Okay?”
Jessy read the last message of her friend Steffy and decided to call her to finally give her an update of her current whereabouts, but she saw a message request from Renee.
When she opened it, it’s Renee and Jacob’s engagement party invite. Renee purposely sent the invite to Jessy to make her feel jealous, but in reality, Jessy didn’t feel anything. All she had left for Jacob and Renee is disgust and anger. She immediately closed her laptop and closed her eyes as tears suddenly fell. She was so angry and frustrated; she’s been avoiding them but they are really getting into her nerves and purposely overdoing things!
Suddenly Jessy’s phone rang and was relieved to see who called.
“Hello.” Jessy answered excitedly
“Did something happen? Why is your voice sounds hoarse?” Liam asked worriedly.
Jessy was shock that Liam noticed the change in her voice which she really did tried to hide. Worried that Liam might eventually find out what happen, so Jessy then told Liam everything that happened and all the stuffs she just recently read, honestly.
Liam couldn’t help but sigh. “I told you-” But before he could finish talking Jessy already spoke.
“I know, I’m sorry. I got bored and - ” Jessy took a deep sigh. “I actually did not have any intention to read their messages other than of my friend. But, it was a lot. I only read a few, deleted it and blocked him. But with Renee, I admit it was a mistake. I had a gut feeling it was her, but I still ended up opening it. I’m sorry Liam. I know you asked me to stay away from them.” Jessy said with a low voice feeling very remorseful.
“Are you sad?” Liam asked as if being jealous of the thought that Jessy might still have feelings for Jacob.
“No, not at all” she answered quickly.
“Then what’s with the voice? You seem to be crying again.”
“It’s not like that, I’m just mad and frustrated because I already gave them what they wanted but they still keep on messing with me. Was hurting me not enough for them? I mean I already gave them the freedom they wanted, why can’t they give me the freedom and peace I wanted?”
“Because, somehow they are realizing what they have missed. You want me to handle them?” Liam got worried that Jessy might got too affected with what had happen and wants to get over the situation right away for her to finally move on.
“No need, I’ll continue to ignore them instead until they get tired. Besides I have learned my mistake already. I’m not doing it again.”
“Good girl! But if they even try to hurt you at any way, let me tell you ahead. I won’t be merciful to any of them.” He said in a cold voice.
“Liam” Jessy said but Liam brushed her off and said “I mean it.”
Jessy felt how domineering and confident Liam was, but instead of getting angry she actually felt happy. Happy that someone finally cares for her this way.
“I know. Uh Liam have you arrived already?” Jessy tried to change the topic
“Yes, I’m actually on my way to the hotel already. By the way Jessy, don’t go out today, okay? I already asked someone to buy your goods, they will deliver it later, it’s been raining there since I left.”
“How did you know?” she asked surprisingly
“Weather updates” he laughed.
“Oh, right! I’m sorry.” Jessy laughed from embarrassment.
“Oh another thing, I have good news for you. You applied in LSS Designs Corp, right? They called and they wanted to interview you in 2 days.”
“Really? Are you sure they really called?” Jessy smiled and jumped all over “Wow! What an honor to be called for an interview by them!”
“Are you that excited?” Liam teased “It’s just an interview.”
“I know. I know. But getting an interview from them is already very hard! I’ve been wanting to work there, since like I started working.” Jessy answered
“Then do your best, okay?”
“I’ll sure do and if they will give me chance to work at their company then I will surely treat you out when you come back!” She said confidently.
“That’s a deal then. I’ll call you back in a while, okay? We have arrived in the hotel and I need to see some officers first.”
“Okay. Thanks for the news. Bye!” Before Jessy could hang up Liam spoke “Jessy. Please wait for me, okay?” Liam said softly.
“I will. Take care Liam.” Jessy answered and she hang up.
