Chapter 17: High on Drugs??

Clear green eyes filled my view. He was riding almost beside me.
He yelled, “Stop it's dangerous!”
The guards screamed too along with him. They tried to get closer to me.
(What is with these people?)
Huh?
(Why won’t it stop?!) I tried to get it to slow down but the horse had gone crazy.
“Catina!”
Suddenly, I noticed Kronos who was dangerously close to me. He opened his arm and shouted.
“Jump off!”
As soon I had turned to look at him, the horse moved a bit violently and I hugged the horse tighter.
He was asking me to let go of the rein and jump into the air. This man is crazy I have never tried circus as a career I couldn’t help but be scared. I certainly had never jumped on or off a horse ever before.
He shouted again, “Catina”.
I shook my head and yelled back sharply, “No!”
Kronos looked surprised at my scream. He bit his lips and after a few seconds, he let go of his rein.
He then stood up on top of his horse, that man! What was he trying to do?
I could hear the security guards screaming from far away.
“No! That’s dangerous!” I screamed
Suddenly, he jumped onto my horse; I thought my heart would have stopped because of this man and I would have died without even getting on the ground.
While I tried to understand what was happening, he sat behind me smoothly and snatched the rein away from my hands.
I felt angry again and grabbed the rein, but he made me let it go by force, He was too strong for me to defy him.
What was he trying to do here?
I look at the man behind me who was riding the horse like he was high on drugs.
Damn it, what's wrong with him.
I grip my saddle tightly while managing to stay put on my seat.
He yelled, “GUARDS, ALL OF YOU GO AROUND AND SEARCH FIFTY METERS AROUND THIS AREA QUICK!!”
In a lowered voice he continued in an intimidating tone "Now listen to me and listen to me good Miss Ellison, I want your eyes here, look at me! This is the last time I'm letting go. This will be the very first and last time that you embarrass me and don’t listen to me in front of people. So from now on, it would be best if you behave when you are in my presence. You don't want my bad side now, do you?"
"N-no, no." I whimpered, trying to swallow the lump forming in my throat and keeping my tears at bay.
I continued in a whiny tone, “I will ride alone slowly”
“I won’t let you ride alone”
Why was he being so difficult today?
I said to him in annoyance, “We are too heavy for the horse. You are abusing her!”
“No. She is strong enough to carry both of us with no problem”.
I sighed and gave up as I resigned my quarter lifetime o him.
Such a petty man! If he didn’t want me to ride his horse, why did he allow it to begin with?
“Why did you even jump on this horse-“
He didn’t answer right away. Before I could say more, he interrupted me.
“… We need to jump”, Horse was throttling too fast and it would break our necks from the fall.
I shook my head to protest.
But he let go rein, took me by the waist and threw us off the horse.
I saw the sky and the ground jumble into one.
It was slow motion this action, I tell you! The speed quickened as we landed I felt myself hitting the ground.
He covered me in his arms panting like an animal Kronos stood up. The knights were trying to calm down the horse. Even though several men were holding the horse, she was still uncontrollable. She was foaming in her mouth. Clearly, there was something wrong with the horse.
That was too strange from what I knew from Dustin that Kronos had prepared for me was a meek and gentle horse that was well trained. Kronos had made sure of it himself.
This kind of accident shouldn’t have happened something doesn’t fit right.
He knew it wasn’t the horse fault, but there was no doubt it was meant to hurt.
But who…?
The knights saw his deadly expression. They paled in fear.
“Y- Your …” a knight tried to say something, but couldn’t finish his sentence.
Kronos took out his sword and walked towards the crazy horse.
Slash!!!
Bright red blood sprayed onto the horse’s white hair. It even got onto Kronos face and arms, but he didn’t seem to notice. The horse spasmed a few times before quieting down lying coldly on the dirty.
Kronos looked at it coldly frightening to send shivers to everyone. Everyone around barely breathed. It was grave silent with Kronos bathed in blood.
Then finally, one of the guards said.
“My Lord! Someone has tampered with this!”
He lifted the saddle to show inside, which had a tiny needle to appear from inside. This meant when Catina sat down, the pressure caused the needle to appear and prick the horseback.
The only conclusion that can be drawn is that someone had tampered with it.
“Your highness about the report…” Sir. Liam hesitated
“What is it!” Kronos asked in a commanding tone.
“We found no one fifty meters around this area accept few arrows and an arrow on which this paper was tied.” Sir. Liam said as he handed out the arrow along with the paper.
Kronos looked at it as his face turned into a thin stern line.
