Seraphine's pov.
As I reached the chambers, I found the room empty and sighed in relief. I quickly ran to the kitchen and met Lady Verya, who was about to bring the Alpha's meal. I bowed quickly and smiled.
"What do you want? Here to cause another trouble?" she sneered, her face not having any hint of a smile.
"No ma'am. The Alpha sent me to collect his food immediately," I said, not making eye contact. Lady Verya laughed.
"You didn't just steal Lady Gina's bracelet; you also want to poison the Alpha? The guts of you," she said, loud enough for everyone present to hear.
Some looked at me with pity, while most stared at me with contempt... mostly contempt.
"No, the Alpha really sent me," I argued.
"Move out of my way, slave," she said and pushed me aside.
