Chapter 11 - She is Disgusting

1097 Words
I'm on my way. Anna immediately sped up her breakfast after reading Ben's message. She took a big bite of toast and went to get her bag. Then Anna came back to take it with her out of the apartment. As soon as she swallowed the food in her mouth, she ran down the stairs. Luckily, she lived on the fifth floor. After that, she waited for Ben's arrival. He had just bought abalone porridge for Kate. Yes, Ben. You read that right. That was abalone porridge for Kate. Suddenly she asked him to bring it with him when they visited her. Anna would scold her if it wasn't an important day, not the day of her audition. That was not his job. At least not for that kind of request. The sound of a horn made Anna turn around. That was the car. Thus, as soon as the car stopped, she opened the door and climbed in. "You bought it right, didn't you?" she asked without greeting. That was more important because Kate threatened not to come to the audition if they didn't bring the porridge. "Yes. We visited the restaurant she mentioned," Helen replied. Anna nodded in understanding. If so, that wouldn't be a problem. "I didn't know she's like that." Suddenly Ben commented. He was the youngest and had joined the company only for four months. Therefore, he was assigned as a driver. "Yeah, me too. I thought Kate was good." Helen chimed in. She had worked for two years with Anna. "But at the first meeting, she already showed that," she added. "Right. I didn't like the way she rejected the script." "She looked haughty, right?" "Yes. And very picky." "Even though she's just a B-class actress. She should be happy to get an offer like that." Ben turned the steering wheel to the right and took them to the downtown area. Kate loved luxury, so her apartment was in an expensive downtown building. "There're many celebrities like her," Anna said after a long silence, listening to them talking. "Really? I thought the media was just exaggerating," Ben replied. He had really just entered the world, so his knowledge was limited. "Yeah, sometimes the media do that. But mostly those are the truth." Actually, Anna had warned her colleagues about Kate's nasty rumors. But, they, especially Ben, didn't believe that and said it was just a rumor. That might be true. However, Anna had reliable sources, so doubting them was not an option. And in the end, it began to open. "Will we be treated like this forever?" asked Ben. "Not forever, but for five years. Kate signed a contract with us for five years," Helen explained. "Then we'll work with her for five years?" "Yes, unless she asks for a change, or-"Helen hung up her words. "Or what?" "We either get fired, or we quit." It wasn't Helen but Anna. His lips rounded like an o. "How about Adam Green? Is he bad?" "I don't know," answered Anna. "But I don't hear any nasty rumors about him. At least not as bad as Kate." "Can we get a chance to work with him? I'm his fan." Helen chimed in. The words reminded her of Rebecca. "Why do a lot of women like Adam so much?" A murmur escaped her lips. But apparently, it was loud enough for Helen to hear, so she asked, "What?" "No, nothing," Anna lied. "Let's hope we have a chance." Ten minutes later, they arrived at Kate's apartment. And they were surprised by another thing. The apartment was a mess. "What the hell is this?" Helen exclaimed while showing a shocked and disbelieving face at the sight before her. Clothes were scattered on the floor. And when they went deeper, dirty plates and leftovers lay in the dining room, living room, and even on the nightstand. That raised a question in her mind. For how long was it there, considering the smell was stinging? Anna and Ben's reaction was the same. Anna even put on a disgusted face because That was terrible. It was the first time she had seen someone's house like this. "Where's Kate?" asked Ben in a whisper. But who could answer that? They just got there together. Soon, there was the sound of running water from the bathroom. Anna took the initiative to approach it. "Kate," she called. No response. "Kate!" call her louder. Then the gurgling died down and was replaced by a question. "Who's that?" Unconsciously, Anna let out a sigh of relief. Nothing terrible happened to Kate. "It's us, Anna, Ben, and Helen," she shouted in response. "Okay." Then the shower came back. But apparently, who they were waiting for came out long. It made Anna, Helen, and Ben only stand awkwardly while staring at each other. They wanted to sit down, but the sight diminished their desire. So they were waiting for her like that. "You're finally here." Finally, Kate was done. She was wearing a bathrobe with wet hair. "Make yourself comfortable," she said as she walked towards the wardrobe. Helen and Ben looked around and swallowed hard. How did they make themselves comfortable in this environment? Anna walked over to her. "It's ten. You have an audition at eleven." She reminded Kate. Kate looked relaxed while choosing her clothes. "What style suits me well?" she asked without diverting her attention. Anna didn't answer right away. She glared at Kate for a few seconds and let out a heavy sigh. "Better use casual." "Is it? I'm planning on wearing a tank top and miniskirt." Kate was still choosing her clothes. "I don't think so. Elisa is a quiet girl. She won't dress like that." Elisa would be the name of the character Kate was gonna play. She meant that Kate was going to audition for the role. Kate sighed heavily as she looked lazily at Anna. "Can't I wear that?" Anna gave a shake. "If you want to get a role, you need to dress properly," she said. She wouldn't tolerate that. It had to do with professionalism. "Please." Again, Anna nodded firmly. "No, Kate. Just wear black jeans and a white t-shirt. White sneakers are great. And if you want accessories, just a watch, a bracelet, and a ring. No more." She showed a firmness throughout her expression. An annoyed snort escaped Kate's lips. But she complied instead of continuing to argue with Anna. "Okay. Okay. I'll wear that." She then returned to her wardrobe. The activity was like forever for her. "And Kate, please, clean your apartment."
