Selina’s POV
I grabbed my jacket without thinking it through. Without asking permission or telling anyone where I was going.
My wolf pushed me forward, restless and demanding, and for once I didn’t fight the instinct.
The forest swallowed me whole within minutes.
Morning mist clung to the ground between towering pines, and my breath clouded in the cold air. I followed the bond like a compass, letting it guide me deeper into the woods until the cabin disappeared completely behind me.
A prickle of awareness made me stop.
I turned slowly, scanning the trees. The mist moved strangely here, curling around trunks in patterns that seemed almost alive.
There was nothing here. Just forest and shadow and the distant sound of water running somewhere.
