The Beginning
Dust had always been a reserved girl, her grades low a's. She had a very unique look to her that caused her to be a spectacle everywhere she went, for her skin was white as snow, her hair a platinum blonde, her eyes icy blue, and her clothing always either an a lite blue or white color. To her pack, The Dark Moon Pack, she was an omen of bad luck so with all their might they avoided her like the plague. Their fears were established from an urban legend. This legend spoke of an all powerful Alpha Female wolf that would ascend to power on her 18th birthday, and bring about the downfall of her pack. She would have power over all the elements and with the loss of her one true mate she would seek the destruction of the world. The day started as any other, I got ready at 7 am with the hope at least one person at school would welcome me. My life so far had been pretty lonely with the legend following me around like a dark cloud. My only internal wish was that someone would welcome me as their mate and not die. At school I had a few human friends who didn't care about what all the "cool kids" ie werewolves thought of me. My best friend Lila had been my partner in crime since we were 10 and saved me from bullies countless times. I grabbed my brush wondering how I would look if I had eyes or hair a different color. My color differences don't just affect my human side, they construed my wolf side to be very unique as well. My inner wolf's name was Blizzard had silver fur coat, blue crystal eyes, in the center of her forehead laid a purple diamond crystal, each paw however had a different color to represent the elements I control. She had a wonderful temperment that was always loving, and maternal. In all my 17 years, she was the closest thing to a mother that I'd had, seeing as how my own mother had passed away when I was born. My father, Darian, the Beta of the Pack, had kept me in spite of the Alpha telling him to be rid of me. He was kind, but as I got older I saw the lonliness of mother's loss affect him more and more. I wished that the moon goddess would give him a second chance mate to let him live life as a happy man. Even as a child with the pack's angry demeanor about me, he never gave up on me, treating me like a father should. They say love is patient, love is kind, well that is what I thought of my father. "Dust come on we have to go" I heard from my father through the door. I hurridly put on my clothes and grabbed my bag for school. Smiling softly he said "don't worry about the other wolves, they just don't understand how special you truely are." I hugged him close and gave a wave goodbye as I got into my car. My car was nice for being a first car it was a 2016 Ford Fiesta, enough room for me to drive freely without the hindrances of being picked on the bus. I turned on the radio to listen to country music. The drive through the mountain range to my small town was uneventful if you count the wolf teens running to school in their wolf forms. I smiled wishing I could be with them, but I am not involved with the other wolves, to put it bluntly I am a rougue in a pack. Though my father accepted me, the rest did not. I pulled into the parking lot only to recieve glares from my classmates. As I pulled into my spot, my bestie Lila came running up to my car. "Girl you won't believe it, michael asked me out. I said yes" she smiled happily. "I'm happy for you Lila, maybe he will be the one." I winked with a sly smile. She blushed at the thought because Michael was one of the "Cool Kids" so he was exceptionally handsome with his dark brown eyes, caramel skin, had a six pack and loved to show it. He had a kind personality to everyone but Dust, and was the Alpha's son. I felt the fear within my heart at his words that he has said since he was declared the next Alpha to be. "You will be out of my pack after graduation, by banishment or by death." Lila never knew this as she was human so I felt happy for her proposed happiness. She skipped happily towards Michael never noticing his glare towards me, I knew it was just a ploy to alienate me from my human friend, but I could never stand in the way of her happiness. I sighed and closed my car, walking to class alone knowing the glares my way would continue all day. I entered english class to see a new face, which was rare. He had blue eyes, black hair, and caramel colored skin. He wore a black shirt and khaki shorts showing he had muscles. What caught me the most was a smell of laveder and vanilla that sent Blizzard into a frenzy of happiness. "Dust he is our mate, I can smell he is an Alpha, and I hope he will accept us." I sat down giving him a small smile, feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks. He turned gazing at me with a small smile giving me hope that rejection wasn't in the air. Suddenly Michael came up to the new guy "Hey bro what's your name?" "My name is Blake." Blake replied. "Well fair warning Blake, stay away from the freak, she'll get you into a losers circle fast." My heart fell with tears coming up fast, why did it always have to be like this. Michael wanted her to suffer. "Well, bro, I would like to meet everyone to give them a chance first. I believe meet then judge, sorry." "Alright see for yourself." Michael sat down watching us as my heart lightened a bit. Blake smiled and turned to watch the teacher as the lesson began on Romeo and Juliet. I thought how fitting it was that my life felt like Romeo and Juliet, where love would end up killing my Mate if the legend was true. Throughout the lesson Blake kept looking at me, I would return the looks with a smile showing I was appreciative of the attention. This kept going on until the bell ran out. I got up and went to my locker seeking solace of being alone sneaking past Blake to give him space to be with the cool kids. Maybe just maybe Blake will like me as a Mate.
