When I went to look for Desmond yesterday I decided to decode a passage from Matanica's diary- the short passage. She said she was a royal, and her lover was to be her personal knight and that her diary was with 'them'. At first that was all the information I had- which was easy information clues I didn't have to search for but when Majika said she was the one who dug up her grave and grabbed the diary. But in the book it has no mention of Iris's death; so what if she made a decoy copy? Something to throw people of so they wouldn't go looking for her? Also Gabe had told me that their mother was the queen of Nature and was cursed by their dad's bloodline- he mentioned witches and Mr.shon said the 'Myth' era, all of the dots are connecting- so, Iris's grave had to have been in the woods, how else would Majika know about the Diary if she didn't hear about Matinca from her Mother and Father? Now my plan is to look for clues at iris's grave- their might be answers that I'm looking for there because I know I won't receive them from Majika.
I pulled a map out of my bookshelf- where the 'Level D' book was. Not expecting to find the nearby areas located on the map but I have no Idea what I'm looking at because I haven't gotten out of this place since I got shot in the heart with a laser.
"Desmond." I whisper- he knocks on my door three seconds later and walks in. Desmond and I have been spending lots of time together to gather up information to find Iris- or rather her journal; In this book it doesn't have a lot of information about me- so we don't know if Iris is still alive or not. I know she has a grave but back in those days people made tombstones before their death so they wouldn't have to pay for it when they actually die.
Desmond grabs the map from me as I search the shelves to see if there is any more information, I never learned how to read maps and I'm not going to start now. I look through each book for some sort of clue- something that could help. I pick up a book that catches my attention, the cover invited me with it's blush red- the backbone somewhat torn. I wrap my fingers around it pulling it from the shelf,
*plop*
A paper from the book falls out in front of my feet- a name and date written on it-
"Lady Iris, 1838." I flip the picture around and notice a beautiful woman with blonde hair sitting at the base of her shoulders wearing expensive jewelry and a beautiful headpiece. I look at the picture- admiring how beautiful a deadly woman could be.
"Desmond- check this out. This is Iris. She looks really young in this,” Desmond looks up as I show him the picture, he jumps up from the floor.
“This is Iris!” He grabs the picture from my hand and walks over to the bookshelf and grabs one of the books that I had moved earlier. He sets the book on my desk,
“I’m glad you found this picture- surprisingly, the book you grabbed this out of is the only book I haven’t read. But this book has a ton of information on ‘Lady Elizabet”. He looks at me waiting for a response, but all he got were my shoulders because I didn’t know what to say.
Desmond begins to flip through each page, I can smell how old these pages are, the dust flying off of them; it’s making me want to sneeze. Desmond gets to about the end of the book before he stops. There’s a picture of ‘Lady Elizabet and Lady Iris.’
“Lady Iris is mentioned a lot throughout this book, they said lady Iris was involved with their international affairs but that would seem almost impossible because Lady Elizabet died in 1796 so she was dealing with a-“
“-Vampire.” I finished.
Over the next to hours Desmond and I were flipping through books and different maps that appeared over time- we didn’t know what we were quite looking for but all I wanted to know was who this vampire was that she was dealing with because if I know who it was that’s where we will start; more than likely that vampire is still alive.
I take another book and walk over to my desk and sit in my chair- I grab the pen and begin to write down important facts- the thing is none of these books have any mention of Matanica or ‘Lady Elizabet’ or ‘lady iris’ now I just feel like we’re wagging our tails for a bone we may never get.
“Ughh!” I groan, I hit my face against the desk… on accident. I look over at the clock and notice that we’ve been cooped up in this room for 13 hours.
“What’s wrong?” Demond comes over and pats me on the back-
“We haven’t found anything and I don’t even remember what we were looking for- I have found nothing to get me answers to who I am.” Desmond gently grabs my face and gives me a small peck on the lips and I smile.
“Even though it’s a pain in my ass not to touch you and every inch of your body, I will wait a thousand years until you have the closure you need. Now if there was a rule between Vampires and Matanica’s that there was to be no physical contact- I just wouldn’t live with that.” He takes his hand and grasps my hips- pulling me up from out of my chair- he pins me up against a wall and I instinctively wrap my legs around him feeling his large bulge- his lips lock with mine and his tongue was begging for entry- I allowed him. Before we parted for breath, I bit his lip- a little to hard if I may add.
“ouch.” He laughed. He enjoyed it- so did I. I sucked on the blood drawn, his blood tasted sweet. Who knew a vampire could actually have blood, I sure as hell didn’t?
*BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! *
“are you kidding me?” I whispered, burying my face into Desmond’s neck. I latch my arms around his neck as well and whisper into his ear,
“You know the book never said anything about not being able to please a vampire.”
“DESMOND OPEN THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW! I KNOW YOU’RE IN HERE!” Majika yells while pounding the door.
“Are you kidding me?” Desmond responds this time. I could feel that he wanted what I was suggesting. Majika continues to pound on the door-
“You need to go Desmond- come back tomorrow okay.” He puts me down and begins to walk out the window when he uses his vampire speed and rushes over to me- giving me one last kiss. When he’s gone, I open the door to see a pissed Majika.
“WHERE THE HELL IS DESMOND!?” She yells, ignoring the books scattered throughout the room.
“I don’t know I haven’t seen him since- you slit my wrist.” I cross my arms in annoyance. She walks up to me and gets right in my face- I wonder if she can smell him on me; I still don’t understand what the hell a cursed Cervidae has to do with anything.
She has her arms crossed now, even an eyebrow raised- boy am I in trouble. She huffed and walked out the door, I waited a few minutes just to make sure she is gone. When she is, I sigh and flop onto my bed, I am so glad my Mother sent me here. I touch my lips to reminisce in what just happened between the two of us- Desmond and I that is, I’m so glad that I’m not pretending but- maybe we should be pretending. I turn over and rest my face on my silk pillow, I know it’s bad to sleep in the same clothes that I wore today but I’m just to exhausted to care right now.
I wrestle with the thought of the revelations that we got today but none of it is adding up- why would we be able to find out this information but not do anything with it? I mean I know more about her than I do about the ‘Matanica’.
I close my eyes and give into my deep slumber.
…**..
“Alannah, wake up.” I feel soft and gentle strokes against my face, I know who it is but I don’t want to wake up or it will stop.
“I found something last night in one of the books I took, we should check it out. Come one get dressed.” When I heard this news, I was quick to get out of bed. I run to the closet and pick out a white lace bodysuit with a patterned jumper dress. I begin to undress my top when,
“Ahem.” I turn around and I get flustered, forgetting that Desmond was there. But to cover my embarrassment- I turn it on him.
“What- wasn’t the show you wanted?” I take off my shirt exposing my red lace bralette, next taking off my skirt exposing my matching set. Desmond coughs a couple times to avoid eye contact or we’ll get right into business and I don’t mean professional. I slip on my body suit and I figured that I need help clipping the pieces together.
“Would you be a dear and help me?” I ask. His face getting beat red and he begins to itch his head. I lay flat on my bed- looking at him holding himself back- being a respectable man like he is. He comes over and begins to button the clips- avoiding the main distraction.
“There you go…”

After the slight torture Desmond asks me to get on his back- I’m assuming it’s so I don’t slow down this urgent mission.
This is the last day of ‘no restrictions’ before classes start up and I haven’t heard from Cerina since then. I wonder if I said too much to her all at once, but right now I’m more worried about the relationship desmond and I are going to have in the future. Cerina and I clicked pretty quickly so I feel like our relationship would be harder to break than anything else.
I can feel Desmonds muscles moving with every millisecond, the wind flowing in my hair is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in a fast car or my Moms van. Does Desmond ever get bugs splattering on his face? I mean I imagine he’s going much faster than a car, so does he occasionally get a splat of insects on his face? I close my eyes to take in this new rush of movement I’m experiencing. What does Desmond do for his blood intake, that just came across me, out of the days I’ve been with him I’ve never asked him about his story.
