Endless Love

Morning light kissed the floor inside a spacious calm room. Ten inches away lay a head on top of the pillow. Hair messy and scattered,lip pouted and eyes closed. The room door opened a heel sounds were head approaching. "Melissa? Don't tell me you're still asleep?" the lady peeked and saw no response. She huffed in disbelief and walked to the curtains and opened them fully. The sunlight hit Melissa's eyes making her groan in annoyance. "Mom please. it's too early to deal with you right now" She turned her body to the other side and covered herself with the blanket seconds before it was yanked off. "Melissa! this is not a joke. I shall expect to see you the moment I land downstairs. do I make myself clear?". She looked at her calmly waiting for her response. "Melis-". Melissa abruptly sat up and looked at her. "I'm up I'm up". She threw her hands in surrender and sluggishly stood up walking towards the bathroom. "And make it quick". The woman left the room heading downstairs and Melissa sighed and fully entered the bathroom. ▪️ Downstairs ▪️ A maid was seen serving the table nearly and skilfully.The woman looked at the table. "Make sure everything is perfect Ruben. Not a single misplaced spoon. Got it?". "Yes madam". Ruben nodded submissively and resumed her work. "And make it quick. Everyone will be here soon" Ruben nodded and started doing her work more rushly. A bald man suddenly emerged from the stairs adjusting his tie. The woman looked at him and smiled and walked over to him and fixed his tie. "Morning husband".She kissed his cheek and looked at him. The man looked at her with an amazed smile. "You seem like you're in a good mood Vanessa? tell me what happened". Vanessa chuckled and walked back to the table. "Is it impossible for me to be in a good mood Ollen? I may be a tough person but I sure can smile can't I?" "You can but when it concerns you Vanessa.....I get worried". Vanessa chuckled again and set the spoon correctly. Then another male emerged from the stairs fixing his hair and descending in a rush. He walked past them. "Orion!? where are you rushing to?" She walked towards him and Orion stopped walking with a sigh and turned around to face her. "Mom my friend is waiting for me outside so I have to go. I'll explain when I get back okay?" He walked to her and kissed her cheek Vanessa smiled and looked at him cupping his cheeks. "Orion my son. I think you know me very well. We'll be waiting for you" She patted his cheek and walked back to the dining room. Orion sighed and trailed behind her. Soon they sat around the table filled with all kinds of food. Ollen and Vanessa glanced at each other seriously and Orion noticed. "Where is Melissa?". Vanessa looked at him and smiled. "She must be coming right now" Melissa descended from the stairs with her heels clicking and she walked to the dining room. She looked at her mom and smiled. "Morning mom" Vanessa smiled back. "Morning Melissa" She looked at her dad and walked towards him and hugged him. "Morning daddy" "Morning my princess". He kissed her hand and she smiled and ran to Orion's side and kissed his forehead. "morning little brother" Orion looked at her in disbelief. "Firstly, I'm not seven so do not kiss my forehead like that. never ever. Secondly I've grown up so stop calling me little brother. and lastly good morning to you too sister" Melissa hit his head and chuckled. "you really like to complain" She say down on her seat besides him and Orion smiled. Vanessa cleared her throat. "Let's eat then. If you both are done" They all looked at her and they obeyed and Ruben started to serve them. Vanessa and Ollen kept glancing at each other worriedly and the siblings noticed but didn't want to pry in. After a while Vanessa cleared her throat again. "Mom? seriously, you need to stop with your throat". Orion stated playfully and everyone smiled but Vanessa looked at him seriously and he resumed eating. She looked at Melissa. "Melissa" "mom". Ollen looked at Vanessa with a serious expression. "we have a guest coming. If I would be more accurate he isn't even a guest" She looked carefully at Melissa for her reaction. "Vanessa" Ollen muttered the name carefully. "What? you failed to do your work and I did it. what's wrong in what I just said?" Orion looked at Melissa and sighed glaring at his mom. "Mom, couldn't you wait for everyone to finish eating?" "Orion, don't interfere okay?" Melissa stood up abruptly making the chair scrap loudly on the floor. She glared at Vanessa then looked at Ollen. "I've lost my appetite dad. I'll be on my way" She marched out of the dining room. Vanessa stood up and walked after her. Ollen sighed frustrated and rubbed his forehead. Orion sighed and patted his shoulder before standing up and exiting the dining room too. Meanwhile Melissa stumped on the Mable floor angrily storming over the door and a hand grabbed her from behind and she yanked her arm away roughly. "What!?" "what kind of behaviour is this Melissa!? Why are you behaving like this? That man is your-" "That man is no one to me got it mom. And please, I don't have time for this I'm late" "Where are you going Melissa?" "To the warehouse" She opened the door and slammed it making Vanessa sigh.She waited outside when her car was brought to her and handed her keys.
