Chapter Two
continuation from last Chapter 1
Wake up, you wasted worm! You’ll be late for your first day as a senior student!” Jake barked back, arms crossed, clearly enjoying the chaos.
“Whatever, I need to sleep!” she grumbled, flopping back into her bed with a dramatic sigh.
“I’ll scream in your ear again...” Jake threatened, taking a daring step closer.
“If you do that... I’m going to twist your neck... LEAVE MY ROOM NOW!” Gwen screamed, throwing her pillow at him.
“Whatever, b*tch,” Jake muttered under his breath, smirking.
“What did you just say?” Gwen hissed, slowly turning her head toward him.
“You heard me, wh*re,” he replied coldly, his voice dripping with venom.
.
I jumped out of my bed rushing straight towards my brother, the little rascal quickly transformed into his normal self and took off with lightning speed, I chase him all around the house but the little pig was too fast.. In that moment, we both ran into our father, who was sipping blood from his small China tea cup.
.
Derrick with his voice sharp and demanding. “What is the meaning of this?”
Gwen didn’t hesitate, pointing accusingly at Jake. “This little pig here called me a b-tch.”
Jake immediately shot back, eyes wide in fake innocence. “She’s lying… She’s mad because I woke her up.”
Derrick turned to Gwen, raising an eyebrow. “So you’re still sleeping by this time of the morning, huh?”
Gwen stumbled over her words. “I… Well. Kinda…” Then muttered under her breath, “F-ck.”
Derrick sighed and shook his head slightly. “Come with me to my study… We have a lot to discuss.”
.
I sighed and followed my dad to his lame study, as for my brother, he was laughing so hard behind my back, as I turned around the little f-cker gave me a middle finger and disappeared.
As I said earlier my father is a stickler for rules.. He believes so much in them that he made up so many uncool rules in our house and among these rules was waking up early from sleep and if he ever finds out you woke up late or disobey any rule, then he begins to get suspicious and when he gets suspicious, things get really messy.
Seconds later, my father and I arrived at his study, he took his seat and told me to sit down which I did. I had to wait for him to finish sipping his blood before he began to fill my ears with unnecessary talks. After he was done consuming the blood, he dropped the tea cup and looked me directly in the eyes.
.
Derrick’s eyes narrowed as he shut the study door behind them. “Alright, Gwen. Why were you sleeping late? You know waking up late is forbidden in this house.”
Gwen rolled her eyes, folding her arms. “Oh my goodness, Dad. I’m not a perfect being. Besides, I found out from the humans that getting enough sleep is healthy for one’s body.”
“Answer the question, Gwen!” Derrick snapped. “Why did you wake up late?”
“I was having the most wonderful dream of my life. That’s the reason why.”
“Dreams are worthless.”
“No,” Gwen countered firmly. “Dreams are beautiful. They’re sometimes premonitions for the future.”
Derrick let out a long, disappointed sigh. “Why can’t you be like your siblings? It’s undignified for a female vampire to be acting like this. If you keep this up, you’ll never get a suitor—and I want you to marry into one of the best vampire homes.”
“No way in hell am I going to marry into one of those stuck-up, boring families,” Gwen said defiantly. “I want to marry someone who knows how to live—someone who knows the finer things in life.”
“You disappoint me, daughter,” Derrick growled. “Even your lies aren’t good enough. I know why you slept late last night. That’s right—you were at a party with that witch friend of yours. It would be a shame for the other vampire families to hear of this. Do you know the Wallenstein family wants you to be their son’s bride?”
“Like I said,” Gwen replied coldly. “I won’t marry into any of those families. I don’t want my life to be controlled by dumb rules.”
Derrick growled again, his temper flaring. “You stubborn child… If you were a boy, I would have given you a beating.”
“Well,” Gwen said with a smirk, “it’s a good thing I’m not.”
My father was about to lose his temper when my mother walked in, intervening in the matter before it got out of hand.
Alice Romanov is my mother's name, she's from the Lionheart family, but she's just a distant relative. Just like every other poor female vampire, My parents' marriage was just based on arrangement and not of love, but somehow they began to love each other after they got married, My father says it's commitment but to me, it's just pure luck.
My mother too is a stickler for rules but there are times when she bends them a little and thanks to my dad's love for her, she gets to wrap him around her little finger and often saves me from being punished, she's just a lovely woman, It's a shame she had to end up with a bore like my father.
.
Alice sighed deeply, her voice filled with concern as she looked at me. "Dear... please forgive her," she pleaded softly, her eyes softening toward my father.
But Derrick, my father, wasn’t having any of it. He turned toward her sharply, his expression stern. "Don't interfere now, my love," he replied, his tone filled with authority. "This girl deserves to be taught a lesson."
"I’m a lady, not a girl," I retorted quickly, unable to hold my tongue.
Alice, however, wasn't having it either. "Hush, girl," she said, her voice becoming firm. "Please, my love... Do it for me, huh? Let her go. You know how crazy youths are. She’ll change; just give her time."
"I hope so," my father muttered, his voice heavy with disappointment before he stormed out of the room, leaving me alone with my mother.
Once I sensed that my father was out of earshot, my mother turned on me. Her scolding came swiftly, her words sharp and filled with frustration. "Why do you like getting under your father’s skin? Why can’t you obey his rules just once?"
I sighed, my patience thinning. "That’s the problem, Mom. His rules are lame. I want to live my life the way I want to."
Alice’s eyes narrowed as she took a step closer to me. "Quiet, girl! You’re not getting any younger, and you’ve reached the age of marriage."
"Marriage!" I spat, my voice filled with disdain. "May the devil forbid it. I won’t get married now. No way."
"But there are suitors worthy of you," she countered, her voice softening. "Suitors who will take care of you."
"Oh please, Mom," I groaned, rolling my eyes. "You’re breaking a lady’s heart here. All these suitors are no different from Dad... they’re all boring. I want to be with someone I love, someone who’s fun and exciting."
Alice’s face flushed with emotion. "Please, you’ll teach them to love you like I loved your father!"
I scoffed, shaking my head. "I doubt it... I bet they have small d-cks."
"What did you just say?" Alice demanded, her voice laced with shock and anger.
"Nothing!" I quickly retorted, my voice high-pitched as I tried to backpedal, not wanting to get into more trouble.
"You naughty child," she muttered under her breath. "This is what happens when you hang out with those bad friends of yours. They teach you all sorts of vulgar and dirty manners."
I crossed my arms, unbothered by her scolding. "Please, Mom... Look at me," I said, stepping forward and letting my chest puff out. "Take a good look at my magnificent bust. A body like mine deserves to be handled by a real prime male, not intellectual fools."
Alice sighed deeply, clearly exhausted by my antics. "Begone now... You wouldn’t want to be late for your first day as a senior student. Go now!"
I rolled my eyes, sighing dramatically. "Alright, Mom... Sheesh," I muttered before I turned and headed out the door, leaving her behind to stew in frustration.
After that, I transformed into a bat and flew straight to the toilet.
40 minutes later, I was finally ready to leave for school, as soon as I came out of the house, My brother Xavier was waiting for me outside.
