4 - Blaine Ash

'Blaine?' Peter called out into the room. It was dark and cold inside, the only light coming from the moon by the window where the curtains were pulled wide open. 'Babe, where are you?' 'Why are you so against this?' Blaine's voice came from the corner of the room which Peter finally made out his silhouette that sat by the couches. His face was buried in his hands and he looked extremely tired. 'Honey-' 'I love you so much. Why won't you do this for me?' Blaine murmured. Peter made his way to the couch and sat down next to Blaine, hugging his hands around his waist before leaning his head into the crook of Blaine's neck. Blaine sat unmoving from Peter's touch, waiting for his answer. 'Answer me.' Peter stayed silent for a few moments thinking it over again. 'I'm not ready to be a parent, Blaine.' he whispered. 'Yes, we are.' 'No. Me. I am not ready. I know you are, you're born ready for almost everything. I'm not like that. I-' Peter stopped himself mid-sentence. 'What are talking about?' Blaine turned to look at Peter. 'My father was barely a role model. Do you know how f*****g horrible of a son I am?' 'You were an amazing son.' 'I knowingly dated the leader of the gang he was trying to put in jail. And then I gaslighted him into thinking he was imagining the fact that your family could possibly have anything to do with it. I was a horrible son. And I remained a horrible son until the day he died.' Peter uttered, ashamed of his actions towards his father. Blaine knew Peter had always had a sense of guilt in him for what he did to his father. Keeping all this from him while he worked tirelessly day and night to solve the case. At the time, Evelyn was still in charge and she did not give Lucas an easy time. 'That doesn't mean you will be a bad father. Your father was never exactly supportive of you either, let's not forget that.' Blaine said. He never really liked Lucas. 'It's not only that. He expected so much of me. To take after him. To join the police force and excel in my career as a detective. My mother made sure my report card was always all A's. Made sure I got a scholarship to the most prestigious school.' 'Where you met me.' Blaine smiled. 'The point is...I didn't have the best parental figures in my life. They always had such high expectations. I know how it feels to not live up to something when you've been put on a pedestal. This kid already has a job and he hasn't even been created yet, Blaine.' 'You lived up to all those things, what are you talking about?' Blaine sat up and cupped Peter's cheeks. 'You're a great detective with the brains to match and you excelled in all your studies. You are the perfect son.' 'That's the problem!' he exclaimed. 'Blaine, if I were to have followed their every wish and do everything they had wanted me to do, I would have never entertained the idea of getting together with you. We would have never had the chance to fall in love and have the life we have now.' 'You're overthinking this.' 'Blaine, if this kid is to have all these expectations from your family and all these things he must follow and do, they will grow up resenting us and these people you call your family. And they would miss out on the chance of actually having something amazing for themselves. Like the love I have for you.' Peter said and cast his eyes downwards.' 'Hey.' Blaine said and placed his finger under Peter's chin to have him look up. 'You're forgetting how I turned out. I was raised by these people, wasn't I? I still found something amazing. I still ended up with everything I could ever ask for.' Blaine smirked at Peter and planted a small kiss on his lips. 'That's different. You are perfect. If this child has any part of me it's not going to be perfect and they're going to grow up hating themselves.' 'Maybe I can get my mother to hold off on it for a few more months, maybe a year. Give you more time to adjust to it?' Blaine said after a few seconds of silence. 'But I want you to know that I actually really want this for us.' he continued. Peter turned to him and scrunched his brows. 'We would be our own little family. Come on, you cant expect it to just be us all the time.' 'I do actually.' Peter said. 'Baby...' 'Am I not enough for you?' 'No, I cant get enough of you. Which is why I want a kid who's exactly like you. Smart, loving, patient, funny.' Blaine planed a kiss on Peter's head. 'You are perfect.' Blaine pulled them close and they met in a heated kiss. Peter climbed ontop of him and held his face in both his hands to bring them closer. 'Are you still angry?' Peter asked between kisses. 'I wont be soon.' Blaine said and directed his lips to Peter's neck. 'Blaine, I'm really tired. Make it quick.' 'That's no fun.' Blaine halted Peter up and they made their way to their bed where Blaine gently placed Peter down on his back, his lips never leaving his skin. Peter gasped when Blaine roughly pulled his pants down to his knees. 'Blaine!' Peter exclaimed. 'Shh...' Blaine removed his clothing and threw it on the ground before returning to his lover. 'I love you.' he whispered when their eyes met. During the next morning, Blaine sat in his study finishing some work he had. His table was filled with files and paperwork. His job as the head is to oversee all business agreements with other families as well as ensure his members were doing their jobs respectively. Blaine was also expected to resolve any dispute between members of his gang. There were about 30 gangs that are under his family's organization and they all work in different parts of the country, but ultimately they all report to him. He had gotten word that morning that three gangs in the south had broken out into a full-blown gun match in the neighborhood. Six men were found dead and three were in custody. Luckily, the majority of them were able to escape the scene before getting caught. It was one of the biggest fights they had between their men since his mother's ruling. Gang fights were not rare and Blaine has to ensure to keep an eye on them to keep the police from finding any reason to go and stop their operations or dig up any unwanted information that may lead to them. The gangs were there to help distribute drugs to the dealers of each town and help keep everything under control. But when men are involved, ego is too. And it was almost impossible to ensure a peaceful exchange between them. It was only a matter of time before one man decides to open his mouth and cause a domino effect. 'Come in.' Blaine said when he heard a knock on his door. In front of him were three files that his second in command had left on his desk that included the information of the three leaders of the gangs that had gotten into a dispute. Blaine opened each and studied their information. They all looked to be around his age. Blaine recognized one of them being Alan Mantle. He was appointed the leader of Blue Needle three years ago after the previous leader was murdered by Blaine for being reckless and disappointing. 'Blaine. The men are at the warehouse, as you requested.' Rueben stood in front of the desk, holding a few files in his hands. 'Good. We will leave in a few minutes.' Blaine said and reviewed the other files as well. Rueben took a seat on one of the chairs that were placed in front of Blaine and gave Blaine the files he had in his hands before leaning back. 'I saw Mama's chauffer outside. Is everything okay? What is she doing here?' Rueben asked. Rueben was Blaine's best friend since childhood. He was an orphan that Evelyn took in when he was only 10. She needed someone to help care for Blaine who was only 5 at the time and be a good stand-in for Blaine. When Blaine turned 7 he started getting into a lot of trouble with the house staff and the kids in school. He would start fights and threatened people with violence if he didn't get what he wanted from them. It was a necessary trait that a mafia leader needed but it got out of control. Evelyn knew that Blaine was going to get into more trouble as he ages, and she couldn't have him take the fall for any of it due to his future job as the leader for Montana Cartel. So being the overbearing and protective mother, she brought in a substitute for her son that would be able to take the fall for Blaine's mistakes. And that was Rueben. Whenever Blaine got into fights in school, Reuben stepped in to take the blame. When Blaine messed up in his job while he was being trained, Rueben took the punishments. Evelyn knew that if someone Blaine cared for took the blame for his actions, it would be easier for her son to take his job seriously and stay out of trouble. It was a very effective technique and it kept Blaine from getting into more trouble than he would have if she didn't create this system. This had made Blaine extremely protective over Rueben and vice versa. 'Yeah, same thing as last time.' Blaine said. 'Peter still not budging, huh?' Rueben chuckled. 'He knows he doesn't have a choice, right?' 'Yes, doesn't make him any happier about it.' 'Did you tell him what you did last month with his...' Blaine looked up and stared at Rueben with a pointed look. 'Don't speak about that. I'm not proud of it and I don't plan on telling him anything just yet. It's not the best time.' Blaine explained and collected all the files on the table into a pile. 'Blaine, you sent Peter's DNA to the fertility centre without his consent. They are in there preparing a foetus for you guys and you haven't told him anything? What are you going to do? Bring a baby home and say 'surprise' ?' Rueben exclaimed. 'He doesn't need that kind of stress right now. Let's just get this last shipment over with and settled before I throw anymore things at him to handle.' 'That 'thing' is a child.' Blaine sighed and lowered his head. 'I'll tell him. Just...not right now. Besides, the Center mentioned the possibility of it even working out is 19%. We may not even end up with a kid. Why bother him with something that may not even work out. And they aren't preparing a kid in there it's just for testing, they will inform me before they do that.' 'You're an i***t. Does mama know about this?' 'If mama knew about this, Peter would have known about it too by now. Only you and the doctor knows. As far as she is concerned she's in contact with her own fertility center right now and Peter and I are against it.' Blaine walked around the table and grabbed his coat by the couch. 'Let's go.' When the black SUV pulled up at the docking bay, it was the afternoon and the sun was blaring hot above them. The place was empty and the few men that stood by the dock were dressed in black and covered by large boats and empty containers. It was a secret area that Blaine enjoyed bringing his business to since it is a private domain and no one enters the place and most of their shipments happen here. There were 7 men in total and they surrounded a person who sat crouched over on a wooden chair. His legs and arms were bounded by thick ropes and his shirt was ripped and dirty. There was blood running down his nose but other than that it didn't seem like he was beaten up badly. Rueben first exited the car, looking around and checking the surroundings for any possible threat before turning and opening the door for Blaine to get out. They immediately made their way to where the group of men was. 'Good evening, gentlemen.' Blaine said softly and adjusted his sunglasses, shielding his eyes from the blazing sun. 'Sir.' the head guard greeted with a slight bow. 'What do we have here?' he taunted with slight mockery. 'Mr. Ash, I can explain. I had warned my boys not to get into any-' 'I don't recall giving you permission to speak to me.' Blaine interrupted him. 'Please! Don't kill me! It wasn't my fault, I swear!'  Blaine sighed out of frustration and turned his back to the pleading man, tuning his voice out. Rueben nodded to the guards who stood by the side and they walked forward to Alan. 'I'm sorry, please!.' he screamed before his voice was finally muffled by the dirty cloth that one of the guards tied around his face to stop his annoying pleads. His softened grunts tried to make their way through the fabric which annoyed Blaine even more. 'Someone shut him up.' Blaine grunted. One of the guards walked forward and landed a swift blow onto Alan's face, aiming at his mouth. The punch was hard and it sent Alan's head plunging backward. 'Are you finished?' Rueben asked, waiting for an answer. Alan regained his composure before he nodded slowly, blinking his eyes a few times to gain his sight back. 'I will only say this once, so listen carefully.' Blaine turned around and made eye contact with the beaten man. ' The members of Blue Needle are on very thin ice right now with me. I don't think I need to remind you of what happened to the last man that was in your position. I promised you the spot as their leader because you promised me you could handle it.' Alan's breathing got louder when he noticed Blaine walk forward and crouched in front of him. 'But we both know that was a lie, wasn't it?' Blaine said which earned him a headshake from the frightened man. 'Well, I guess I'm also to blame for trusting a daft pillock. But alas, I am a kind man.' Blaine smiled at Alan menacingly.  'I won't kill you.' he said which Alan visibly relaxed. 'But this mishap cannot be unforgiven. You have cost me a lot of money as well as men. I don't think that's fair at all.'  Blaine reached his hands up and removed the cloth from Alan's face, revealing a deep cut on his bottom lip that he got from the punch. The cloth was soaked in blood and saliva which Blaine grimaced and threw aside.  'P-please, sir. It won't happen again, I promise.'  'That's the plan. But how would you like to pay me back for all the damages I had to fix?' 'I-I can get you the money but I don't have much. I'll get my men to sell triple the amount they normally d-' 'You're going to pay me back using the money you earn from the drugs you got from me. Think a little smarter, Mantle. I don't have time to waste.' Blaine said and stood up, towering over the desperate man. 'I don't know what you want me to do, sir! I'll do anything!' Blaine smirked before he took in a deep breath.  'Alan...Alan, Alan.' he strung out hauntingly. 'Do you know what is the most expensive organ in the human body?' he asked. Alan's eyes widened and he took in a sharp breath before shaking his head. Blaine took his gun out and move forward, pressing it at the man's chest. 'T-the heart?' Alan answered. 'See, you're not as stupid as you look.' Blaine chuckled. 'The heart is worth almost 1 million dollars today. But of course, I already promised I won't kill you and sadly, you need that to continue breathing.' Blaine sighed and rolled his eyes, shaking his head in disapproval.  'Rueban?' 'Yes, sir.'  'What is the next most sought-after organ right now in the market?'  'We've had a spike on sales for kidney's the last 6 months, sir.' Blaine smiled and turned back to look at Alan. 'What do you say, Alan-boy? Sounds fair? You can live off one kidney, right? Of course, that means you're gonna have to cut back on your drinking habit but that's not so bad. You should thank me for that, I'm helping you with your addiction.' Blaine chuckled again happily which made Alan shiver. 'Sir, ple-' 'As I said, I'm a kind man. Take him to the harvesting base, boys. I want it done by tomorrow noon. I hope we don't meet like this again, Mantle.' Blaine said and stuck his gun back in his pocket before turning, all while ignoring Alan's desperate pleads.  'We can't do much with a dying kidney, that man drinks alcohol like its air.' Rueben said as they made their way back to the car. 'I don't plan on putting it on the market. Just have them toss it out once it's removed.' Blaine said and got into the SUV.
