CLARA’S POV
Kevin and Dominic exchanged quick glances the moment I voiced out my fears. Ruby’s eyes widened, like the realization had suddenly just dawned on her. The room suddenly turned cold when I realized that no one had seen Nico since the maid took him away. It felt like a cold hand was crawling up my spine, freezing every bone and muscle along the way until it got to the back of my head. I swallowed, frozen to the spot with shock and a gnawing fear tugging frantically at my heart.
“I’ll send the guards out now,” Kevin said, bolting to his feet before rushing out of the room.
“I’ll go with him,” Ruby said and ran after Kevin.
