The luludi
"Luludi, means simply a flower. When refering to a woman as a luludi it means she is as innocent as a flower, she is clean and untouched by a man. Every decent gypsy man wants to marry only a luludi. So we must be obedient and stay pure to make sure we'll get a good husband and live happily." I explained queitly to my younger sister Marica. She was only a year younger but since she'll be turning sixteen our parents would give her to her promised husband soon. Marica was curious about the meaning of the word so she had to ask me ofcourse. We had to whisper since everybody was asleep. All of us slept on the floor of our carrige and layed on sheeps wool. Except for our parents they slept in the other room. When everything was quiet and only the moonlight would shine through the little window, I would often seize this oppprtunity to lay and think. Looking at my two sisters and a little brother sleeping I wonder about a life of my own, about what awaits my future."
That night I dreamt of a dark room where I was alone, I felt fear. A creepy creature climbed on my hand. It was a huge black spider and right as I felt the pinch from the spiders bite I woke up, terrified, gasping for air. I brushed my hand to check if the spider was still there. No, everything is fine. It was a beautifull sunny morning and I quickly calmed myself. My siblings already left the carrige and from the outside I heard my mother screaming
"For christ sake Asheila! Do you want to sleep until the afternoon? Or will you get up and cook breakfast for your father and brother?"
"Coming!" I yelled back.
