Chapter 49: Collapse Sequence
Bonny’s POV The explosion ripped through the building hard enough to throw me sideways. Glass shattered somewhere below us. Lights flickered violently. Then emergency alarms erupted across every corridor. For one suspended second, nobody moved. Then chaos detonated. Adrian caught me before I hit the floor. “Bonny!” “I’m fine—” Another blast shook the structure. Less powerful. Closer. Not fine. Definitely not fine. Naledi stumbled into Vivienne, and Mara grabbed both of them before they fell. Vanessa swore at her tablet. “We just lost two lower floors.” “What does that mean?” I shouted. “It means someone is either destroying evidence or removing witnesses!” Excellent. Love that for us. --- Smoke began creeping beneath the far doorway. Gabriel went pale. Actual pale.
