Bonny’s POV The stairwell was chaos. Agents shouting. Boots pounding against metal steps. Emergency lights flashing red across concrete walls. And beneath all of it— the terrifying groan of a dying building. Adrian kept one arm firmly around my waist as we descended. Naledi stayed close behind us with Vivienne. Mara somehow argued with an armed agent while running. Talented woman. “You could at least tell us if the building is exploding-exploding or rich-people-overreacting exploding!” “Ma’am, keep moving!” “Rude.” Another violent tremor shook the stairwell. Dust burst from the ceiling. Okay. Definitely exploding-exploding. --- Three floors down, the lights died completely. Darkness swallowed us whole. Someone screamed behind us.
