At the open door he moved his lips to her ear and whispered. “I love you, so. So very much.” Hearing his words, she pressed her face softly into his neck, tried to speak, found one last breath of words, as she whispered. “Oh Mal…Oh Mal.” Instantly, now home, now safe again she fell to darkness and went limp in his arms. Hearing her rhythmic breathing Mal felt no alarm and thought of the black sheets he would now lay her within and in doing so there lives together now would be as one, as it always had been met to be. Moving through the door, he kicked it shut and as it slammed closed he moved her back into his life, his future and hopefully into a joy they both might share for some time, as time understands such matters.
