Fear.
This is the only emotion I am feeling right now, instead of feeling happiness upon finding my mate.
I feel like I have committed the biggest sin on this Earth that is why moon goddess have paired me with this heartless Alpha as a punishment.
I was still looking at him with my teary eyes when I felt someone clutching fist full of my hairs from behind in a tight grip.
I realized it is a warrior of Dark Shadow Pack.
“Show Respect to your Alpha” Saying this he forced me to kneel just like other pack members and left my hairs.
I was so lost because of shock and fear that I didn’t realize when everyone kneeled.
I didn’t dare to look up but I felt his burning gaze on me.
“I am sure you guys know that I killed your last Alpha and Luna” Alpha Damien began speaking in his deep voice.
“And now I am the new Alpha of Blue Moon Pack” he stated. His voice is laced with pride and confidence.
“It would be better for your own self that you accept me as your new Alpha. I want each one of you to swear your loyalty to me” he commanded.
How can we swear our loyalty to someone who took our happiness away.
“I will die before accepting a cruel monster like you as my Alpha” A man from the crowd shouted.
I know him. He is David, one of a respected member of our pack. He is looking at Alpha Damien with hate. And why wouldn’t he?
His son was the good warrior of our pack who died in the attack two days ago while protecting Luna.
I can understand David's rage. Accepting the man who is responsible for the death of his son must be very difficult for him.
“Then die” Alpha Damien replied casually and in the next moment David’s dead body was lying on the floor.
Few fear filled screams and gasp escaped from everyone's mouth.
Once again tears rolled down from my eyes upon seeing the Cruelty of the warriors of Dark Shadow Pack.
They don’t even think for a second before killing.
My tear filled eyes drifted to Alpha Damien and I found his gaze on David's lying figure.
There is no remorse or guilt in his eyes. They are blank and dark as night.
As if he sensed my gaze on him, his dark orbs landed on me and the evil look in them made me shiver due to fear.
Seeing my reaction he smirked a little. I couldn’t bear to look at him and looked down.
“Anyone else who don’t want to accept me as their Alpha” he asked.
No one said anything. How can we when we know the consequences of saying anything would be death.
“Good. You all will be assigned to some task. I hope you will obey and fulfill them” he said.
“If anyone shows any disrespect or tantrum will be killed immediately. There are some rules that you will have to follow. And if anyone goes against those rules they will be punished. And the punishment will be….” He paused causing my heart to beat fast in anticipation even though I guessed what will be his punishment.
“DEATH” he added.
I heard the sound of footsteps and lifted my head up a little to find him walking in the direction of gate.
I stared at him till the moment he reached near the gate and a sigh of relief escaped my mouth when he didn’t say anything to me.
It means he doesn’t want me as his mate.
That’s good.
Even I don’t want him as well.
But the relief I felt was for a very short moment when he stopped suddenly in his tracks.
He turned around and looked at me.
Once again my gray orbs locked with his blue ones.
A cold shiver ran down my spine and my breathing became uneven when he continued to stare at me with so much intensity.
I feel like he is reading my soul just by looking at my eyes.
My heart sank in to the pit of my stomach when he smiled looking at me before turning around and leaving.
It wasn’t a normal smile. And the dark and evil glint in his eyes was doing nothing but scare me even more. His smile held a promise.
A very dangerous promise which told me that he won’t leave me.
That he will ruin me, completely.

“And this is the kitchen. With this the tour of pack house ends here. Does anyone have any questions regarding your duties?” Martha, the head maid of pack house said in her stern voice.
Yesterday, one of the warrior of the Black Shadow Pack informed us that we are now slaves of Dark Shadow Pack and gave each one of us some duties and responsibilities to fulfill, except me.
I don’t know why he didn’t tell me what I will be doing.
Majority of pack members were assigned to work in farms.
Many men were sent to training centers so that they can learn fighting and become warriors.
All the children were sent to hostel to complete their education. Along with school they will be taught many different things as well so that they will be useful for the pack in future.
Even Hazel was sent there. I am missing her so much at the same time I am really worried about her.
How will she stay there alone?
I hope they will go easy on her and other kids.
And some young women like me are assigned to work in pack house of Dark Shadow Pack.
I can see clearly that everyone is nervous but my nervousness is more than them.
Why?
Because I am the only one who doesn’t know what work I will be doing. Everyone else were told about their exact duties like cleaning, cooking or laundry work.
I had asked the man who was telling us about our work yesterday, that he didn’t tell me about my work.
He checked the list he was holding in his hand and after going through it for some time he told me that my name is not in that list.
I was scared assuming that if my name is not in that list, does that mean they will kill me.
But my fear reduced when he told me after mind linking the Beta that I will be working in pack house and they will tell me about my work after we reach in pack house.
In the morning we were escorted to pack house of Dark Shadow Pack by some warriors.
Then Martha showed us around while telling us about the rules and regulations of pack.
I came out of my thoughts with Martha’s commanding voice,
“If there are no questions then get started with your work”.
Soon everyone left for their assigned work except me.
Martha raised a brow questioningly looking at me.
“I wasn’t told what work I will be doing” I said respectfully.
“you weren’t?” she asked a little surprised. I just nodded my head not knowing what to say.
Now my fear is increasing even more.
Why didn’t they assign any work to me?
Can it be Alpha Damien's order.
But why?
He didn’t acknowledge me as his mate, it clearly means he doesn’t want me.
Then why?
When Martha didn’t say anything to me for some time I asked her again.
“So… what will I be doing? I can cook well. Can I work in kitchen?”
I even suggested her what I can do better, because I am getting a very bad feeling. My wolf is also getting restless for some reason.
But before she could say anything a deep voice answered for her.
A voice which sent chills to me, my mate's voice.
“No you can’t”.
I took a deep breath and turned around to find him standing at the door of kitchen looking breathtakingly handsome in his black shirt and blue jeans.
The sleeves of his shirt are rolled up to his elbows showing his masculine arms and top three buttons of his shirt are undone.
I gulped visibly when he began walking in my direction while smirking at me.
I averted my gaze away from him feeling embarrassed that he got me ogling him.
Damn this mate bond.
I took another breath to calm my rapidly beating heart and bowed my head respectfully.
He stopped right in front of me. I can feel his burning gaze on me but I didn’t look up.
Even though my heart is pounding in my chest I asked, “why?”
What is he planning to do with me?
He leaned closer to my ear causing my eyes to widen due to fear.
I tried to move back but he held my waist by his hand and pulled me closer to him.
My heart is beating so loudly that I am sure even he can hear it.
“What… what are you…”
I couldn’t complete as he placed his index finger on my lips shutting me up.
“What were you asking…. Hmm, Why can’t you work in the kitchen right?” he asked. As he didn’t say anything further I just nodded my head in yes.
“Because…” he once again leaned closer to my ear and whispered huskily,
“You will be working as my personal slave, My Mate”.
