my first day.
chapter 1
It was a warm, sunny day in August.
Today is my first day of college. I have never been so excited and nervous. In all honesty, I don't know how high school went by so fast.
My name is Chloe Gibson, and I am from a small town in Florida. I recently moved to New York to go to college, I hate being so far away from home, but I've always wanted this.
My dream has always been to become a veterinarian or a nurse. So here I am in school for nursing. I managed to park my car in the student parking lot. This school is so much bigger than what I am used to, and has more students. I suffer from anxiety, something I've had since childhood.
I already was prepared for an anxiety flare-up, so I looked up at the sky to calm my nerves. As I started my deep breathing, I got a whiff of some good smelling cologne. I started looking down slowly in hopes this person would leave. I looked into a gorgeous man who had brown eyes and brown hair. Before I could say anything, he had his hand out to introduce himself. "Hello, my name is Derek, you must be new here."
"Names Chloe."
For a second, I just kept my eyes on him, forgetting the world around me. I was slightly embarrassed as I stared at him, but he didn't seem bothered.
"Chloe, would you like me to show you around?". "I am good thanks". I really don't want him following me around.
" No, thank you, Derek." OH my, I think I can manage to find my way around. I pulled out my to-do list. first, I need to find the dorms to get settled in. I approach a desk, and an older woman looks up. "Can I help you?" Hello, my name is Chloe Gibson, and I am here for my dorm keys." I hope my parents didn't fail me. "OH yes dear, your parents called me this morning saying that you would be arriving. I was instructed to give you the best room we have." Sounds so much like my parents.
I handed my key and walked down the hall to my room. I am quite nervous since my parents can be intimidating sometimes. I open the door, and to my surprise, I feel like Im at home. Wow, my parents did well this time.
