Chapter One part 1: The Night He Walked In
Rain hammered the streets like a drumbeat, reflecting the neon glow of the city in broken, liquid patterns. Elena pulled her coat tighter, trying to ward off more than the cold. Another late night at the law firm had left her bones tired, her mind restless. But tonight… tonight there was a tension she couldn’t place, a weight pressing down on her chest as if the air itself carried a warning.
The glass doors slid open with a soft hiss. He stepped in.
Tall. Lean. Every movement precise, almost predatory. A black suit hugged his frame perfectly, the kind of perfection that demanded attention. His eyes, dark but glowing faintly red in the dim light, scanned the room, finally locking onto her.
“Elena Hart?” His voice was smooth, deep, and impossible to ignore. “I believe you have a file for me.”
Her hand trembled as she extended the folder. When their fingers brushed, a jolt of heat shot up her arm, sharp, intoxicating. Her pulse quickened. This man… there was something about him. Danger wrapped in impossible beauty, a force she knew she shouldn’t be drawn to, yet couldn’t resist.
“You work too hard,” he said, eyes studying her like he could see into her very soul. “Do you know how dangerous that is?”
Her lips parted. Dangerous? For her… or for him?
He stepped closer, and the faint scent of cedar and something darker, sharper, metallic, curled around her senses. Blood? Or something worse? Her instincts screamed to run, but her body betrayed her.
“Some nights,” he whispered, voice low, almost intimate, “are meant for more than work.”
The shadows behind him seemed to stretch, the room dimming in his presence. There was power here, raw and untamed, and it threatened to consume everything she thought she knew. Her heart hammered against her ribs as the reality settled in: nothing in her life would ever be the same. Not tonight. Not ever.
She should have been afraid. She should have stepped back, called security, even screamed. But she couldn’t. Some desires weren’t meant to be tamed. And deep down, she already knew she was falling.
If you like, I can continue with Chapter Two, diving deeper into his vampire nature, the mafia world, and the forbidden romance, keeping the hot-blooded tension high.
