"Help me ! Freya !"My sister's voice echoes.
My eyes jerk open in panic.There's no way that could be my sister's voice. I felt her fear and pain like it was mine. This has never happened before and I don't even know if I'm going crazy.Last night was a breeze and I clearly hated how Jesse stormed to the arena and took me by force. He is strong and that's not possible. If he was a wolf,I would have known it by now but his scent is strange.
"He is not even around ! "My wolf whines like a baby.
" Of course ," I grumble loudly and notice a nice and folded paper on the night drawer." He is a rich and arrogant man ,"
" Please quit it.He just wants to help us ," my wolf says..
I ignore my wolf and open the paper only to find a few words written on it. Instructions which I knew he would out. He didn't like the fact that I was out doing my own thing and the fact that I was trying to earn money through boxing but the truth is ,I want to find my way out before it gets too serious. I feel the strong connection and it's clear that he might be my mate.
' Will be back in a few minutes. Don't go anywhere! Or I will hunt you down like last night!'
I crumple the piece of paper in my hands so tightly that my knuckles turn white. Who does he think he is by trying to command me. I get up from the bed without even taking a shower because I really don't care how I look today .
I head straight to the kitchen and search for something I can easily eat. He told me to stay put but I'm going out whether he likes it or not.
"Don't be a pain ! "My wolf comments.
Everything in this house is simple but very fancy. The kitchen is so big with a very beautiful gray island and fancy utensils in display. The first thing I grab is cereal and milk from the fridge.
Taking a deep breath while I admire the view outside from the large windows. I open my mouth to eat when the sound of foot steps interrupt me.The unfamiliar scent assaults my nostritls and puts my wolf in high already. Some one is here and they seem to know the owner of this house.
"Jesse! "The female voice shouts ," I have been trying to reach you on your cellular phone and you have being ignoring me ! "
Who says cellular phone ? And what is she doing here? My wolf starts growling at the invasion of another female in the house,but I try to stay as calm as possible. There's no way I can be jealous because I don't even like Jesse like that.
I pause my eating immediately the woman appears in front me. She opens her mouth ajar and stands back in shock. Her face looks strained and annoyed at the same time.I can't lie , she is very beautiful with almond shaped eyes, red hair that is tied in a bun with her bangs in front. A white dress with black stilettos.
"Who are you ? "She finally asks after composing herself .
"ummh -"I open my mouth to answer her when she cuts me off with her hands up.
"You are the help! "She gasps and comes closer ," What are you doing in my boyfriend's kitchen eating his food like that.You are so shameless"
My eyes and my mouth starts twitching at the word help. She honestly thinks that I'm the help. I'm in my pajamas but that doesn't qualify me as the help,And she said Boyfriend. My claws start extending involuntary but I take a deep breath and smile.
"You must be mistaken ,"I answer politely,"I'm not the help,"
She frowns at me like I just said something so sinful ," So who are you then ? Surely you know that you are not supposed to be here ! "
"Really? "I ask taken aback and lower my head ," Did your boyfriend tell you ? "
"Tell me what? "She growls.
"I'm his fiancee,,"I dead pan.
The kitchen is suddenly filled with extreme silence as the word leaves my lips.The woman clutches her handbag tightly like something that is so precious to her.
"His fiancee? "She retorts," You have five seconds to leave this place before I don't something to you.Lying is a serious offense- "
"I'm sorry but I won't leave ,"I politely tell her while getting up ," I'm his fiancee and I'm not lying,"
"You little,"Without warning,the woman charges towards me like lightening and raises her hand to slap me.
In a less than a few seconds ,her hand comes immediately to a halt. The impact that I expected to dodge never came. Instead,She is held roughly by Jesse behind her. His eyes are almost a deep dark shade of blue,while his menacing height towers over her. I can feel how strong he is because whether I liked it or not , that slap was faster and I couldn't have dodged it.
"Stand back Chloe or I will hurt you myself ," he threatens her with a low and deadly growl.
My whole body shivers at the sound of his voice. I have never heard him sound so angry before.All the color drains from Chloe's face as his grip around her wrist tightens.She looks like a deer caught by the headlights. Her aggressive demeanor slowly disappaiates.
"Jesse ,"she whines in a tiny voice," You can't be serious about this ! She was trying to attack me and I was defending myself,"
"she is such a liar ,"my wolf growls and I almost laugh out loud at the embarrassing accusation.
"No ,I saw you and I know you are lying. I want you to leave my fiancee and never return to this place now ! "
Chloe's facial expression changes from shock to anger in less than a second.Jesse lets go of her hand without even paying attention to the fact that she is falling to the ground. I stiffle a giggle as I watch her body crumble to the floor. She quickly gets up and dusts herself like nothing just happened.
"You can't be serious about this! Last week we were together in the Maldives sipping wine and today you are engaged to this low life - "
Something painful hits my chest at the statement. I'm not supposed to care about this but my wolf is angry too.
"Be careful with what you say Chloe ," he interrupts her with a loud tone ," our relationship is over and it has been over for a long time ,So get out ,"
The room is filled with so much tension that you cut it with a knife.
"Fine ," Chloe looks at me and smirks before she turns her back to leave.I thought she would not leave with the way she reacted,but I'm not surprised that he has a mistress.
"Good luck with keeping the truth from her ,"she gives a lopsided smile ,"You don't know who this man and he is -"
"Get out ! "Jesse interrupts her and grabs her arm while dragging he out of the kitchen like a toddler.
What truth is she talking about? Is there something that I don't know that he is not telling me.
