Judit strapped Balázs into the car seat and closed the door gently. She circled around the car and got in. She turned the key in the ignition, rolled out of the garage, and waited until the garage door closed after her, and started off. But before she turned onto the main road from their side street, she was struck by the feeling that something wasn’t right. Initially, she didn’t know what was wrong. Then it hit her. The smell. That awful stench. It was in the car now too.
She stopped the car at the corner, jerked in the hand brake, shut the motor off, and jumped out of the car. She rushed to the back door and wrenched it open. Balázs looked at her in alarm, but she ignored this, lifted him out of the car, and started undressing him.
