Chapter 5 The news of Summer Lacey's death spread quickly, to the point that it was all Becky was hearing about in her painting class. The town was quiet, everyone she knew was wracked with grief, but Summer wasn’t someone Becky particularly liked. She didn't feel the need to wax poetic about Summer's wonderful life, or say the beauty queen was taken from them all too soon. Becky didn't want or need to do any of that, and it felt weird. Someone she hadn't liked was dead. Was she supposed to feel guilty? If she were a little nicer to Summer, if she had tried a little bit more to like the other woman, would she still feel like this?
