DESTINED TO THE DEMON LORD
Chapter 1
The whole room fell silent as Julianna looked at the white-and-gold crest envelope sitting on the coffee table in her little apartment.
Her mother died a year ago, and she told her that she was a very special person. She thought that it was just her mother's saying, but this envelope says something else.
“Are you going to accept the offer?” her friend Casey asked as she brought out two cups of coffee, placing them on the table and sitting opposite her.
“You knew that you were special; well, your mom told you that”, Casey said when Julianna didn't say anything.
“You really have to make a decision ”, Casey continued.
“ I'm confused, Casey. I've always believed that I was normal, but this changes everything,” Julianna finally said something.
Her words carried the weight of so much sadness and hurt.
“But it's also good because you have always felt that you were different. Trying to think that a human could break into the school's dorm room with so much security guards and not get caught or even slip classes but still get straight A's,” Casey said, trying to lighten the air.
“ I get what you're saying, Casey, but I think I'm going to sleep on this matter. We can discuss this tomorrow,” Julianna said with a little smile on her lips.
She got up from the sofa, glanced at the envelope a little and went into her room.
“Alright, Juli, but don't forget that we have an overdue paper to submit ”, Casey said
“Ha ha, Casey, but not now. Good night,” Julianna said from her room.
Hours passed, and it was now midnight. Julianna couldn't sleep, so she came out to get some fresh air.
The whole incident had really been so much for her: first her mother's death, and now the envelope that can likely tell her who she is, but she didn't expect it to be something like this.
“Mom, why did you leave so early?” she said to the air, looking at the full moon that was shining brightly upon the cold night.
“ I really need you now. I don't know what to do anymore,” she said. The tension of everything happening so quickly.
Julianna left the balcony and entered the room, coming face to face with the envelope. Then, she took a deep breath and approached the sofa, still looking at the envelope.
Slowly, her hand moved to the coffee table and picked up the envelope. She stared at it for far too long; she could still remember the day the envelope came to her apartment.
It was a lovely evening after a whole stressful day on campus, the two girls just decided to rest.
But there was a disturbance; the doorbell rang when they were about to start their movie night.
“Are you expecting anyone? ” they both asked each other.
Casey stood up to open the door, but saw no one , only a white envelope sitting at the front of their porch.
“What is it, Cass?” Julianna called
“Someone dropped this ”, Casey replied and dropped the envelope on the table.
“Let me see it”, Julianna said and picked it up, but when she opened it, a magical peacock feather appeared, and as she read through it, she became so shocked.
“What is it? Casey asked, seeing the look on her friend's face.
“It says that I have been accepted to a supernatural academy and that I'm also a supernatural being ”, she said, so shocked that the envelope fell from her hands.
Casey couldn't believe her ears, so she picked up the envelope, but she could only see a blank paper.
“Apparently it's only you that can see the words" she said.
That statement sent shock waves down Julianna's spine.
“ Cass, let's just leave this right here and just forget about it”, Julianna said.
Julianna took a deep breath and opened the envelope to see a magical peacock feather. She signed it instantly.
“Hope I didn't make a very bad mistake ”, she muttered, dropping the envelope and going into the room.
The following morning, Julianna was sleeping soundly when Casey came and woke her up.
“ Julie, Julie, get up, get up, Julianna ”, she said hurriedly.
“What's the matter, Cass? Let me sleep a little longer. There's no early morning class today,” Julianna mumbled while sleeping.
“There's someone here for you; come on”, Casey said, pulling her up
Julianna got up ignorantly and just stepped out, but she was so shocked when she saw two tall men sitting in the parlor.
Their looks didn't look ordinary at all.
“Why didn't you tell me that we have visitors? ” she asked Casey in a hurry, coming into the room.
“Well, I did, but you were so sleepy that you didn't even hear me " Casey said
“Okay, I see”, Julianna said and went to get dressed.
“Don't worry, gentlemen; she would be out in a minute. why don't you have this coffee for now?” Casey said.
Coming out, Juliann wore a simple gown, her hair in a ponytail.
“ Good morning, gentlemen. How can I help you?” she asked, shaking their hands.
“Miss Cooper, please, you have to excuse us to talk”, one of the men said to Casey
“Oh, me? Why not enjoy yourself?” she said dramatically giving Julianna signals to gist her about it all.
“We're here on behalf of the supernatural academy agency, and we are here to take you to the academy since you've signed the letter”, one of the men said showing the academy stamp.
“ OMG, Julie, you signed the letter without telling us about it,” Casey's voice sprang from the back of the kitchen door.
“ how does she know about all this?” the two men asked simultaneously, shocked,d fangs and claws coming out of their mouths and hands.
“O, MY GOD! What's that? Julianna and Casey shouted at the top of their lungs when they saw it, and they fell to their feet.
“Why would you do such a thing? ” the second man asked, coming closer to the two girls.
“Don't... don't come any closer-” Casey was saying before she fainted on the spot
“What did you do to her? Julianna asked, shocked.
“Nothing. Now let's go, and we'll have to wipe her memory so she won't remember all of this,” the man said, his eyes glowing red as he crouched down to Casey's level.
“Wake up" he said, and Casey did as she was told.
Julianna could not do anything but just watch him wiping her memory, but she stopped him immediately.
“Wait, don't ”, she said, and he looked at her, confused.
“She is my only friend, and I don't want her to forget about me, so please don't wipe her memory ”, she pleaded, and they both laughed.
“We aren't wiping everything, just the fact that she saw us and that she knows about your secret ”, the first man who spoke said, sipping coffee.
“Oh, okay, umm, sure you can do that ”, she said.
“Hear me, you don't know anything about the supernatural and your friend again went to visit her distant family,” the man said, his eyes still glowing.
“ I don't know anything about the supernatural, and Julie has gone to meet her distant family ”, Casey said like she's in a trance.
“Good, now go to sleep ”, he said, and she slept off.
“Now we can move, but let me introduce myself. I am Nolan, and this is Aaron; We are both vampires,” Nolan said
” Isn't it too late for an introduction? Why didn't you do that before all this drama?” Julianna said flatly
“That's just how we do things, but seriously, we have to go before the academy gates closes” Aaron said, and they went into the car, packed up, and left.
Now standing at the supernatural academy's gate, Julianna feels like she has a double mind. With so much effort she chose to move on.
“Aren't you coming?” Nolan asked, seeing that she wasn't following them into the academy.
“Oh, I'm coming ”, she said quickly and ran to them.
‘ Nolan seems friendlier than Aaron, ’ Julianna said to herself, observing the two guys.
As they walked down the massive compound of the academy, there are two big, different statues and a large fountain in the middle.
“Those statues all together are the academy supreme rankers ”, Nolan said, pointing to the five in one statue stationed at the west side of the compound.
“While that one is the statue of the Alpha King Alejandro ”, Aaron said, pointing to the east side of the compound.
Julianna was shocked hearing Aaron speak, but then she looked at the statue, and she could feel the mighty presence coming from it.
“The academy has placed every student in ranks; your rank determines the level of your powers.
Aaron and I are both B-ranked, while the supreme rankers are the most powerful and the ones you should avoid the most,” Nolan explained.
Julianna couldn't say anything but could only nod her head.
“Okay, this is the end of the road for now, Julianna Carter. Talk to you later,” he said again, saluting her
“Let's go, bro ”, he said, leaving with Aaron.
“How does he know my full name?” Julianna mumbled to herself, then she looked at the door in front of her.
She didn't know what to do before she knocked on the door. no response she opened the door, she saw a middle-aged man filing some paperwork who didn't notice her presence, or so she thought.
“Hello, Julianna ”, the man said without even glancing her way.
“Sorry, but how do they you know my name?” she asked because it's now getting weird that they know her.
“Oh, that? I actually know more about you than you do yourself,” the man said, still not looking up at her.
“But how do you really know me?” she asked again.
“See, child, I actually know your mother”, he said, finally looking at her then he stood up and went to the window.
“You know my mother? How?” Julianna asked, shocked at what she was hearing.
“Yeah, I do. She was the best friend that I ever had, Seraphina. And, child, I'm really sorry for her passing,” he said solemnly.
“So if you know her, then cam you tell me who my parents are,I really want to know. Mama died before she could tell me” Julianna said, the last sentence going down.
“We are not allowed to talk about that, okay ”, the man said, changing the mood of the atmosphere.
“All you just need to know is that you're here to learn how to control your powers,” he said, going back to his seat.
“But I don't have any powers in me that you all are just talking about ”, Julianna said out of frustration.
“Wow, Marcus, you didn't tell me that seraphina's brat is her” They both turned to the door to see a lady in her mid-forties.
