A Blast From The Past...!!!

1521 Words
28th December 1018 / 2018 1402hrs After the Silverlight Knights had walked away, the bodies of ASKIKR and the rest of the minions dissipated as it respawned back within the city. The gamers were whispering hoarsely, and there was a buzz among the onlookers as they were discussing among themselves. They had never seen such an incident before, happening right before their very eyes. They thought that it was a kind of cutscene from a quest that followed through, but they soon realised that the person dressed as a female wizard was none other than a gamer herself. I slapped the rest of the members' shoulders and informed them to leave the area soonest possible. But before we left, I left a parting note. "For those who wanted to join our workshop, please look for Snowball and the rest of the members here. We would be doing a recruitment drive to allow adventurers as well as lifestyle gamers to collaborate." "If you are thinking of switching career, please let us know, and we would accommodate. Right now, we need Blacksmith and Armoursmith. Those who are new to this game, we welcome you. There will be a binding contract drafted out for those who are interested. Potion makers, chefs, fishing experts, miners...we want you all to join SilverBane. We protect the weak and fight against those who dare try to bully us...!" Workshop S I L V E R B A N E... Remember and etched that in your mind, my dear future members...! Be seeing ya around...!!!" After saying my piece, we parted together as a group, leaving the rest of the onlookers feeling stupified, as well as feeling relieved. With the name of workshop Silverbane being echoing in their minds, they had decided to either concentrate being an adventurer or lifestyle players. Either way, those gamers would be able to reap profits after being a member of workshop SilverBane. =*= "Captain...! How could you move with such agility and not only that...you move like a true assassin...! I never knew that you had such hidden talents...!!! We all thought that Healers and Wizards are like glass cannons and could only be useful on long-range attacks or healings. Little did we knew that you could be an Assassin or Rogue as well... This really opens my mind, and I wanted to be a Wizard too...!" ShadowDancer inched close to me and spoke his mind. I stopped him since being a Rogue as the first profession would be a great choice, but choosing a Wizard to be the second profession would be a bad one. "Oh, then what would you suggest, Captain? I still haven't picked mine, and I also haven't allocated any points into my attributes. We all loved to hear from you to give us the pointers and at the same time to dedicate ourselves to be part of workshop Silverbane." It seems that everyone was eager to be part of the family. As we approached The Unarmed King's tavern, we decided to have a meal and some drinks to chase away the fatigue. "You guys go on ahead first, I need to settle something with Magistrate Maelstorm for exchange of something. Then I would be heading back here so we can go and choose our plot of land, would that be alright?" I highlighted as I bade to the rest of them as they ordered their virtual food and drinks even though it had little to no effect on us. "Hurry back with the good news, Captain...!" one of the members called out to me as I walked back out in the sunshine and headed towards the Magistrate's Office. =*= "Good morrow, Archmage Maelstorm. The wooden staff of Blazefury had turned itself into a piece of driftwood already now. Hahaha...! I would keep this as a remembrance since it would be passed down to the junior members of my workshop. How are things going for both the ice and fire crystals?" I inquired since I knew that the ice and fire crystals would be used to socket the staff or staffs that I would be using. Furthermore, only the perfect ice and fire crystals could be socketed inside the wizard's staffs that I wield. It was unlike the other weapons that would require either rubies, sapphires, emeralds or diamonds to be socketed. "Here, you go, my dear student. This is a magic skill book that has all the secrets to the hidden arcane magic. Fire, frost, wind and earth are all included inside. Learn it at your own pace, and you would be one of the strongest wizards around. Besides, here are the perfect ice and fire crystals. You can socket them yourself, but you need to have the services of a gem enhancer to remove it so that you can socket your other staffs when the time arrives." Archmage Maelstorm handed me a thick bonded book, and once I held it in my hands, a system notification sounded. "Would you like to bound this to your account? Yes / No" I clicked Yes, and immediately the magic skill book disappeared from my view and entered into my spatial storage space. I knew that once I open the book to read and master everything, the magic skill book would eventually disappear. This would take months to re-learn everything from scratch...!!! "I would be off then, Your Excellency, Archmage Maelstorm. You can bet on it that I would be one of the strongest wizards that ever walked this land. There is one more thing that I would like to request from you. I would like to procure a piece of land, and it would be turned into one the abode for the rest of the adventurers. Would you kindly write me a simple memo for me to bring it to the Town Hall so that I could process it with the registrar?" This is one of the loopholes that I had learnt back then. A gamer with a peerage could easily buy land from the Town Hall, but the price would be exorbitant, and none upgradeable. But getting a memo from the Archmage which doubles up as a Magistrate would allow me to purchase a plot of land which would be expanded on all the four sides. This means a third-tier Guild could be upgraded to a second-tier Guild once the members and the Guild Leader have sufficient reputation points for exchange...!!! Do you think I would pass this opportunity? Its a whole lot cheaper to gain land for expansion in this way and its the only way through the Magistrate himself. I had read it from a gamer who wrote all about getting such an advantage, and I would not let it pass through my fingers at all...!!! "Alright, my dear student. Please wait for a few moments while I write you a short memo to let the officials of the Town Hall Registrar's office know of your intentions. They would be able to render as much assistance to you in procuring the land that you need. You should remember, however, that you need to purchase the materials for the building of your Guild Hall, even though it may be a small or a large multistorey one. You got that, my dear student?" "Yes, Your Excellency, Archmage Maelstorm. I understand every word you said, and I do have the preparation for the Guild Hall. All I need is a floor plan from the civil engineers, and then I would have my own setup already. Thank you very much for assisting your student, and I would make the most for the name of our Class. The Archmage simply nodded his head as he took his memo pad from his drawer as he wrote something on it. He then stamped the note using the wax and seal and right after he had done so, the memo dematerialised from view. Who needs postal service where we Wizards can do it on the fly? Its as fast as sending an email over in the real world. Hahaha...! "There you go, my dear student. The memo had been sent to the officials of the Town Hall Registry's Office, and they should receive it by now. All you have to do is to choose the plot of land that you wish to purchase either with credits or reputation points or both. You may pick the layout of the floor plan according to your affordability as well. That too could be paid with either credit as well as reputation points or both. Well, judging from your current status, your accumulated wealth and reputation points would be enough to cover the basics." That's what I wanted to hear. I knew that the Archmage Maelstorm would be able to see through my inventory, especially the two that he had just mentioned. Coupled with the members' reputation points, we would have a nifty Guild Hall very soon. The name of our Guild would be called - SILENT KNIGHTS. It was the same as before, and it would always be the same. The only difference was that I had the Guild up and running in 3 months, whereas this time, the Guild is up and about within 3 days...!!! HOW'S THAT FROM BEING BLASTED INTO THE PAST...!!!
