After my discussion with Archmage Maelstorm, I exited the Magistrate's Office after getting my hands on the six pieces of ice and fire crystals. Each of the crystals could be socketed into my staffs, and I would need to find a Gem Enhancer to be able to unsocket them in the future.
I stored the ice and fire crystals inside the inventory and walked outside into the sunshine. The sky had a bluish-reddish hue, and I discovered that the time would be close to dusk in a few hours.
I had promised to the guys that I would be meeting them once I had settled my affairs with the Magistrate. I headed to The Unarmed King's tavern and fortunately, the members were still waiting for me there.
"How are things with the Magistrate, Captain?" Snowball inquired me the moment I entered the tavern.
"Easy-peasy, Snowball. I got what I wanted, and right now, the Magistrate had been helping me with the procurement of the land that we would be putting up our Guild. Have you done with your R&R? If you are done, come on guys, let's head to the Town Hall where we will all go and meet the officials there to choose the plot of land then. The Magistrate had helped me to make the arrangements go through easier. By the way, would you like to give up all your reputation points in exchange for building the Guild and then collect some more to change it for the peerage?"
I asked since the members do not know how to use their reputation points yet. The moment we have our own Guild, the members who contributed to the cause would be getting their peerage faster than anyone else in the lands. Besides, we would be earning the first Guild, and this would make the gamers more envious. Of course, once a gamer gained a peerage, he or she would be able to get their own lands, and from then they would be able to build their own Guild. It all depends on the plot of land that they are going to procure, that's all.
"Yes, Captain. We are done here. We will follow wherever you go and would follow the instructions and advice that you may hand it down to us." Snowball spoke for the rest of the members, as they nodded their heads as we streamed out from The Unarmed King's tavern. We then headed down to the Town Hall, where I had first uncovered the hidden quest of the masquerading werewolf and brought justice and peace to Votrieburg City.
We walked past the town portal and went to the Town Hall where along the way, a lot of new gamers were asking if they were the ones that topped the leaderboards. Once our members revealed who they were, the new gamers were ecstatic to be able to meet the members in person. They discovered that the members were not proud or boastful as they initially thought our members would be.
Some asked the members where they were going, but I had advised them not to leak anything out. So our members were telling those new gamers that they are just taking a stroll around the Town Hall and see the place since they had done most of the grinding et cetera. Some of the new gamers even asked if the members were able to carry them during quests or grinding for monsters or not.
Of course, we do not turn them down since we would be soon recruiting them into our Guild once it had been settled and done for.
=*=
We walked into the Town Hall, as the new gamers were advised to sit around at the front gate of the Town Hall. We have some business to attend to, and the new gamers complied. From my point of view, these new gamers were unsure if they are going to be adventurers or lifestyle players. It seemed that being a lifestyle player do have its perks. I was wondering if the Auction Hall would be open as I would only be able to enter due to peerage benefits.
"Good morrow, Baroness Za. What can we be of service to you? We had received the memo from Magistrate Maelstorm earlier. We are here to render as much assistance as you require." one of the officials greeted me as the rest of the members sat at the guest waiting area. The Town Hall had been visited by me thrice when I first procure the land to build the Guild and here I am repeating the process within 3 gaming days...!!!
"Ah yes...thank you for highlighting it to me. Hmm, I was wondering if you do have some plots of lands to show so that I would be able to purchase them for our cause?"
I inquired as it had been the same way as I had asked since the time I had purchased the first plot of land.
"Of course, we do, Baroness Za. Come this way, we have the list of the plots, dimension, as well as location and I, am sure that you would be able to find one that suits you. As a student of Archmage Maelstorm, who is also the Magistrate, we are happy to provide you with the best with what we could offer."
I was led to another room, and the members were able to follow me since I had acquired permission for them as well. It pays to have a peerage early in this MMORPG since it gives us the edge. 3 long days seem like weeks to me. Maybe it is the waiting time for the launch that had made the time seemed longer.
"WOW...This Town Hall is huge...! This building looked so small from the outside, but it looked like a spatial storage space from the inside...!" Crusader quipped as he walked along on the stone floors and was admiring its size from within.
"Indeed, this looked like a spatial storage space, but the only thing is that we can move freely inside it." ShadowDancer was awed with the size as well, and we were ushered to an office. There was a table in the centre of the office, and several rolls of diagrams depicting the plots of land were displayed on it.
"Help yourself, Baroness Za. We would be in the main hall once you had chosen the desired plot of land that you wish to acquire for your cause. Anything else, you may tinkle this small bell and assistance will be here shortly."
One of the officials mentioned it and then returned to the main hall where they would meet and greet the rest of the visitors.
"Hey guys, feel free to look through the scrolls of diagrams here. Let me see your choices, and we would decide on the best three. Do not worry about the cost since we would be able to purchase the lands and build our Guild hall with credits and reputation points. Here, take a look at this. It is on top of a hill, and there are 9 plots of land altogether to form into a single piece of land. What do you think of this? It had a vantage point, and it could be secured with the help of NPC serving as guards."
"Wow...NPC as guards to secure our Guild hall...Does it mean there would be something like a Guild War going on between each clan or country or even continent?"
WarPriestess asked since there would be no requirement for such guards if there is no invasion of some sort.
"Not really, don't worry too much, alright? The future has yet to come, but its way too far away. Anything can happen, espionage, sabotage, assassin, et cetera. You name it. This MMORPG is unique, and it evolves like the real world."
I highlighted to them as the members realised that this MMORPG is based on real-world events. They thought that they were just playing a game to earn credits and to support themselves through this means. However, when they delved deeper into this MMORPG, they discovered that this is more than a game.
All the members do not possess their own gaming capsule but were using the VR Gaming Headset instead. Basically, the gamers were unable to harness the full capabilities of this MMORPG, as they were missing as much as 15% of the gaming experience.
It may be a figure to most of us, but the benefits that the gamers were losing were leaps and bounds in this virtual world.
I looked at the price for the plot of land that was above an elevated piece of land, and everyone agrees that it was a good vantage point. Frankly, it was also the plot of land that I had gained to build the Guild Hall before. Hahaha...!!!
"Alright, this settles then. We will decide on this plot of land that is on this piece of land where our future Guild would be standing on. Since this is a bare piece of land which nothing on it and the works for setting up the foundation for the Guild Hall would not be laborious. It would be up sooner than you could say S I L E N T K N I G H T S ...!!!"
Everyone laughed when they heard me mentioned that. It was just a metaphor. Everyone was delighted when the members heard me conclude and confirmed that I had made for that the piece of land. I rang the bell, and an assistant came forward from the official's office.
"Please inform the senior officials that we had decided to acquire such a piece of land. Could you kindly notify the civil engineering side to come and meet us since we would like to hand over the masonry for the building materials as well? We would like to have some of the designs on how the Guild Hall would look like."
