"Good evening, Baroness Za. What can we be of service to you on this fine evening?"
One of the officials at the Procurement and Registrar's Office greeted me right after I entered their main office after signing the 10-man agreement needed to register a Guild.
"Is there anything that you need to address regards to the construction of the Guild?"
"Oh, there's nothing for me to address right now. I am here to take a look at the outer city limit commercial space that had been nagging in my mind. Do you have the plans with you right now since I would like to procure one for my trade?"
"Oh, no problem, Baroness Za. Here you go. Here is the layout of the current outer city limit commercial spaces that you would find befitting to run your trade."
I was shown a map that had been unfurled on the table. The leather-bound chart that was shown to me was an enchanted one, and from that map alone, I could even see the entire overview of Votrieburg City. I could even see movements like ants that depict the gamers who were travelling within the city streets.
It looked like a live chart, and how I wished that I could own one.
I looked at the outer city limit commercial spaces and chose the one near the gate entrance at the southwest most area of the map.
I purposely chose that area for a particular reason. There was a large empty piece of land there, and it would be where the system would reset and go through an upgrade.
That piece of land would be turned into a Battle Arena, and that Battle Arena would be swarmed with all kinds of adventurers. These adventurers would definitely be looking for a better Mana and Health potion, and it is up to Tinkerbell now to upgrade herself so that she can start selling the wares.
"A wise choice there, Baroness Za. Once you had confirmed the type of trade and the proprietor, the construction of the shop would be underway right after the full payment of credits and/or reputation points combined. You may change the proprietor as and when you desire, but the name of the trade cannot be changed at all."
The officials made it clear, and then I entered the shop name, the nature of business being a general merchandise store. Then I changed my name from being the proprietor to Tinkerbell, and once it is done, I clicked COMPLETE. After paying the agreed amount in a mix of credits and reputation points, the officials at the Procurement and Registrar's Office confirmed my purchase.
Within minutes, a notification was sent to my system, and it added a small icon of a shop with the name of Twilight Trading. A timer was next to it, and it showed that the building would be ready within 24 hours.
"That's great, thank you so much for your kind assistance. I would be heading to the Auction Hall next."
I thanked the officials, and when I made my way out, my communicator rang out, and Tinkerbell was on the other end. "Captain, I received a notification that we already owned a shop in the outer city limits, is that true? You had made me the proprietor, am I right?"
Tinkerbell sounded excited upon receiving the notifications, and she was happy to know that she was also being made to be the proprietor for Twilight Trading. On top of it, overriding the rights and ownership was my name, of course.
Soon after I hang up, I proceeded to the Auction Hall, where I knew there would be some books that would be beneficial to the members of the Guild. Once we had weeded out those who would remain as casual players, we would have a handful of those dedicated ones like Tinkerbell.
Since these two matters had been settled, it is time for me to go to the Archmage Towers and meet the Mages that could create binding contracts for me. It would be both for the core gamers and the gamers that would dedicate themselves to be a Lifestyle or adventurers.
"Good evening, Beast Tamer. What can we do for you?" an elder Mage greeted me as soon as I entered the steps leading to the massive main door.
I clasped my hands together in a kind of salute, and the elder Mage responded in the same manner.
"I am here to request for some binding contracts for core gamers that had signed the 10-man agreement for the Guild. Secondly, I would like to request for another binding contract for Lifestyle gamers as well. This should how the contract looks like........."
I explained to the elder Mage how the binding contract for the Lifestyle gamers should be since if they were to leave the Guild, they would lose all their skills earned while being in our Guild. All their knowledge of learning how to be a Lifestyle gamer would be returned back to the Guild by force. This would disable the gamers from gaining the same experience and knowledge if they were poached elsewhere by other Guilds. It is something that happened in the past, and I would not want it to repeat in my second life here. Those being poached by other Guild players would lose everything that they had learnt and practised in our Guild.
"Fair enough, Beast Tamer. Your request had been processed, and you may collect the required scrolls in 24 hours. You would need 10 of those binding contracts for the core gamers that had signed the 10-man agreement, right? As for the Lifestyle Gamers, let's put it at 500 then. You may collect them tomorrow or the day after at dawn."
The elder Mage informed me as I made my payment for their services. It was a small amount to pay, but it would our downfall if we do not have such binding contracts.
I smiled at the elder Mage after I had made the payment and made my exit.
It would take another Mage to break the contract made by the Mages, and it would be near possible for them to do it.
"Good evening, Baroness Za. You had an earlier reservation with us. The auction will start at midnight onwards and would be 3 hours long. Do not log off since you would not be able to log in and enter this Auction Hall since you would be transported elsewhere. Are you ready to enter the Votrieburg Auction Hall in this instance?"
"Yes, please. Thank you very much. I would like to take a look at how things are going at this kind of rate."
I was greeted by the reception at the Auction Hall as I made my way inside it. I am used to this place, and coming back in brought me sweet and bitter memories.
The sweet ones were for those books that were most sought after. The bitter ones are competing for those items with the rest of the NPCs. They would inflate the auction price to make the gamers pay as much as 1000% more for them...!!! 1000% or 10 times more of what we need to pay...!!!
"Alright then, our usher will bring you up."
The reception waved for an usher as he came near me and brought me to a lift landing. From the outside, the Auction Hall seemed like an ordinary single-storey building. But once inside, one could feel like having such grandiose feeling due to its magnificent setting. This was the MMORPG - The Lord Of The Red Dragon and the wonders are limitless.
The lift door opened and I entered and the user pressed for the 12th floor. It was the highest a Baroness could enter, and there were at least 100 floors to this building alone...!
*Lift Door Closing*
*DING*
*Floor 12th*
*Lift Door Opening*
Damn...! That was fast...! It took less than 3 breaths to reach the 12th floor. As the door opened, the user motioned for me to step out since the usher would need to bring the lift back to the ground floor.
I stepped towards the main hall and discovered that I was alone among the group of NPCs. This time I would be in great trouble since there's only one against so many of these NPCs. However, I am relying on my luck to get my hands on those two books.
I walked around the hall and found a spot right in the centre among the masses of NPCs, and I seemed to be surrounded by them. I sat down and said some pleasantries among the NPC that was sitting on all sides.
It had been so long since I had been here as going to the Auction Hall is the only way for me to procure those rare items. Even if the Blacksmithing and Armoursmith books are plentiful, it was hard to acquire them in the first 3 months of the MMORPG.
"Welcome to the Auction Hall where we auctioned off items on every Friday night from 2359 hours right to Saturday morning at 0300hrs. Thank you all for coming and marking this day as yet another bountiful week."
"Without further ado, let me bring all the items out for display so you would be able to view what you need and evaluate the prices that you wish to place."
With a wave of his hand, the emcee brought the auctioned items out that seemed to float by. The auctioned items swooshed by and then exited to the end of the stage once more. It was done for in less than 3 breaths...!!! I am not an NPC, and I need to see the rest of the items, dummy...!!!
