Chapter 4: The Hidden Truth

The sunset painted the sky of Monteverde with shades of orange and pink as Solange and Lucas met once more in the park. The wind blew gently, moving the leaves of the trees and creating an atmosphere of calm that contrasted with the palpable tension between them.

Lucas remained silent, his eyes fixed on the ground while Solange patiently waited for him to speak. The truth, as painful as it might be, was necessary to move forward.

"Lucas, I need to know the truth," said Solange finally, her voice firm but soft.

Lucas nodded slowly, as if accepting that there was no more time for evasions. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and intertwining his hands in front of him.

"After we fought and distanced ourselves from each other, Sol, I got involved in things I never should have," Lucas began, his voice barely a whisper. He looked at Solange, his eyes full of remorse.
