Chapter 9: Rules

“Anastasia, Clayton is here. His Majesty wanted you to come with him.” A woman knocked on the door; it was too early, which made me slowly wake up.

“Anastasia! Wake up! Clayton will wait thirty minutes if you don't show up yourself; I will tell this to the Lycan King so he can punish you!”

I sat down on my bed after I heard the word ‘punish’. I don't like it whenever someone was telling me that I will be publish if I don't obey them because they all wanted me to be their slave. They all mistreated me, and physically hurt me, so I would abide by them to whatever they wanted.

I'm so done with that situation but couldn't find the courage to fight for myself. I don't even know why I had the confidence to talk to the Lycan King like he was an average person.

Maybe, I thought I had already met him somewhere, I couldn't even remember, or perhaps, he wasn't too important in my life, so I already forgot about him.

“Yes, I will prepare now. Thank you for waking me up!” I answered back, which made the woman leave. I sighed in relief because I didn't want the other women here to think that I was one of their rivals here.

Naomi told me some women gossiped about me, especially the mark they noticed on my neck. They were talking behind my back that maybe I was the new favorite woman of the Lycan King.

Naomi even informed me that the woman who attacked me was the favorite one of the Lycan King. Maybe, that woman named Karina hurt me because it was too new that the Lycan King wouldn't let a woman be back in their room after they had s*x.

Well, the Lycan King might break my virginity, but he stopped taking me when he saw that I was hurting; that was the reason why he let me stay with him for the whole night; aside from that, I was sent to the hospital because someone wanted to kill me.

When Naomi discovered that a group of women came to me and poisoned me, she was astounded and even warned me I needed to care for myself. Those strategies were among the other women's ways to remove me as their rival.

There were a lot of women who didn't wake up the next day after they slept with the Lycan King. Naomi was worried that I might be one of them. Naomi promised me that she would help me to find the culprit, which made me feel happy.

I checked my cabinet, and I saw my clothes when the Lycan King snatched me when I was about to mate with Benjamin. I decided that I would use it since Lycan King would make me go back to my pack for a short time.

When I left my room, I saw Clayton sitting on the couch. There were some women beside him and gently touching his shoulders.

“Clayton, we learned that you got punished because of Karina. Is it true? I can't believe that she did that!”

“Yeah, Karina did something bad but didn't even receive the punishment. She knew that there were rules here, and she kept disobeying them.”

I was more curious about what they were talking about. Clayton got punished because of Karina. I don't understand why Clayton got punished, and even though I wanted to ask; Ir more, I didn't want him to think that I was eavesdropping on what they were talking about.

“Yeah, Karina is such a b***h! She knew that we had a rule here. We don't care if she's the daughter of an Alpha.”

Oh, Karina was an Alpha? So that would be the reason why she was so possessive when it came to the Lycan King. I couldn't believe Karina chose to be one of the Lycan King's women rather than to be an Alpha of their pack.

I faked my cough, which made Clayton stand up and look at me. He pursed his lips and looked away after he checked my clothes. The woman beside her stood up and checked what I was wearing too.

“Oh my! Did you come here because of Anastasia? What is happening?”

“It's confidential. The Lycan King will not like it if I tell you why I was here.” Clayton answered. We had already left, and I didn't dare to talk to the other women, especially when I saw how they all stared at me.

Clayton ushered me from somewhere, and it was too dark outside, so I didn't see which part of the castle he had brought me.

“Is it true that you got punished because of Karina? Why did she do it?” I couldn't stop asking him since my mind told me to ask him.

Clayton stopped, and I noticed that he had an amusement smirking on his lips. He licked his lips, which made me swallow hard. Seeing the scar on his face was such an incredible masterpiece.

“I didn't even know you like sticking in someone's business. But, yes, I was. Do you want me to tell you what the reason is?” Clayton continued walking, and he had a severe expression.

My head nodded, and I felt ashamed because I was curious about him. Clayton laughed, and I knew that his smile was genuine.

“s*x is such a sacred thing here in this place. So, the Lycan King can have s*x with one woman all day. If he chose you, then he can have you the entire day. But Karina found out that there were some women, so she went to the Lycan King's bathroom and made him have s*x with her. That's the reason why I got punished.”

My forehead creased. “It's too unfair on your part because it's not your fault.”

Clayton opened the large door, and I saw something in his eyes that he didn't want me to see. “Anastasia, we all have some rules here. I know that you are new, but you can't trust anyone here, and it includes me.”

What does he mean? Was he telling me that I shouldn't trust him? But why?
