Roaming (revised)

Before I left My new room I had to put on a coat. There was a few in the closet I had noticed when putting my clothes in there. My father must have known I would be cold coming from Flordia. I was also born in California all warm environments while my father was from Ohio. Close to one of the great lakes it seemed. I decided to go wonder the woods behind the pack house. My fahter mentioned the Alpha had come back here but there was no chance I would run into him right? He could be on the other side of the woods how ever long that was. I found a clearning eventually and it was covered in snow. Most of the pack lands were not covered in snow but this one section in the woods was. It seemed after this clearning it was snowy as well. Maybe that was a border or something I had no idea. I ran into the clearing and jumped into a pile of snow I had found. Being a mermaid and from California I had never seen snow up until this moment. I felt like a kid in a candy store totally unaware of the world around me. Or the fact there was an enitre Lynx just chilling in the clearing. I chuckled a bit but then heard a noise. It almost like a growl and all the hairs on my neck raised up. Yet I wasnt scared for some reason. I could feel the Lynx that was now stalking towards me wouldn't hurt me. Right? This Lynx was bigger than pictures of Lynx I have seen and so I bowed my head out of respect. When I looked back up the Lynx was gone and I sighed. I was a bit upset they hadn't stayed. I decided it was better to go back to town. That could have been someone from a neighboring pack, yet I was sure I was still in my father's pack's territory. Before I got out of the clearing a man in a purple tank top and black shorts came out from behind a tree. I couldnt tell anything was different about him though he had an aura of power. Maybe he was my father son alough he had long brown hair. So most likely not my half brother. Mermaids had to kiss their pearl to find out they were a match, we didn't just know based on scent alone. And I had yet to shift according to my father so I wouldn't be able to find my mate until I shifted if they were a lynx shifter. When I got closer the male shifted his gaze towards me and he looked as if he was smelling the air. I had been around wolves before and they did this too. Mostly when they got a scent of. Oh no there was no way. All of a sudden my father was here and he started talking to the tall male. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I was nervous so I just ran. I didn't make it far before I ran into something. I should have fallen on my butt, yet somehow I was still standing. My face flushed red when I realized the male from earlier was holding me up. "I didn't mean to run into you sir-" I was interrupted. "James. My name is James." He said with a smile. Only then did I notice the lip piercing he had on the bottom left of his lip. "I'm sorry, James." I said using his name which felt normal to say. Like I had been saying it all my life before. "I'm new my father just brought me here." James let me go before kissing the back of my hand. Blushing and completely speechless. "It is customary for one to give their name in response." He said and I quickly shook my head. "Chloe. I'm so sorry I didn't say anything earlier." I said quickly. "Chloe. Gorgeous. What brings you to my pack." His pack. Oh no is this the alpha? It would explain his aura. Then James shifts and lets go of my hand before turning around. "Father, Beta. It's nice to see you." An older man was standing next to my father and he seemed to be just like James. If not only older in stature. My father was the first to speak. "It seems the Alpha wanted to meet you today." My father started saying but when he looked at james he stopped speaking. "I was actual wrong and the Alpha had not yet retired. He is just building his new home and his son is going to take over soon." My father said and I took it in. Oh gods. I really ran into the alpha's son my first few hours here? "I'm going to be showing you how to shift and how to call your Lynx. If you can not by the end of the night you will not be allowed to stay here." Yet a growl came from James and his father looked over curiously. Seemingly to understan in an instant. "I have no doubt you will succeed. First let us go to the clearing." and thus we went to the clearing.
