growing up different

I wake up for school so groggy, and oddly itchy as i go to the bathroom i take a pee then i take a  look in the mirror. I notice my eyes have changed color and I have odd bumps on the bridge of my nose. I freak out and run to my mom and she is shocked and grabs me. I ask what's wrong? She says it seems you are growing up young one. I step back and say what do you mean growing this isn't right, it isn't even human. My pupils are wider and my eyes are bright red and it looks like I'm growing a snout. What do you mean growing older and why am I so itchy? Oh sweetie I'm  so sorry you should take a sick day and I will explain everything. I took the school day off and went with my mom and my dad in the living room. He called in to work told them he would be late and they understood. My mom sat me down and took out the contacts she wears and took the cover off her nose. She then explained we weren't actually human so to speak.We are a sub human evolved from reptiles we start out looking like people but we go through changes as we reach adulthood. They are just a little different.but sadly you are going to stick out for a lil bit sweetheart my mother said. I looked at her  in confusion and why i don`t get what you and dad have they seem pretty neat. As she reapplies her contacts and sensor cover she replies yes we have the money took us a while too they are not cheap kiddo but the problem is the timing it's going to take awhile for them to get here sorry sweety. Oh no school is going to suck. Do the regular people know about us? I asked Yes but mostly adults and even they are a bit herpetophobic and my mom also explained that yes everyone knows about us but we are not very accepted in the world herpetophobia is a serious problem but your are lucky your stuff is coming not everybody afford these things.
