26. Abyss
Svetlana knew Nolan would arrive in the afternoon, so she called him a few times. Eleina asked her to pick her up from the hospital. She was discharged the same day but wasn’t feeling well. Eleina’s face was pale, her mood off, and she only spoke a few words, directed mainly to her son. Svetlana was worried after seeing her. Her eyes were red from crying, and she seemed even more distant than the day before. They were together while their kids played for nearly four hours, but Eleina only nodded a few times to her questions. She seemed in a bubble of her own, ignoring what happened around her.
