Hours bled together in the fluorescent glare. They'd taken the blanket after the first hour, left me shivering in my damp clothes until someone finally shoved gray cotton scrubs through the slot prison issue, rough against my skin. No underwear. No socks. Just the thin fabric and the cold concrete beneath my feet. I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Elias going down, saw Ennis's face as they dragged me away.
