Chapter #10

1363 Words

The cabin was still asleep, wrapped in the deep, quiet blue before dawn when I slipped from beneath the blankets next to Elias. The floorboards were cool under my bare feet as I padded toward the kitchen, drawn by the phantom ache of a coffee craving. But it was more than that. My mind had woken me after hours of vivid dreams that I couldn’t nor even wanted to try to understand. They had come out of nowhere… well okay, maybe not out of ‘nowhere’ but ever since Ennis showed up I felt a shift in just… everything. The new excitement of getting to know Elias how I had always wanted and finally being able to have him. Finally being intimate and enjoying him. I really couldn’t understand this sudden unease of unspoken words. It was like a knife through the calm. There would be no more calm.
