Laura's Interview

Laura was watching TV one day. She decided to ride her four-wheeler as it was a nice day. She was recently working at a factory sorting parts. The job ended as they ran out of work. Laura was hoping to hear about a position she applied for at Speedway gas station. She applied for a general manager position. Now, she is 30 years old and wondered if she would ever find someone to share her life with. Laura cried as she thought back six years before.

Her parents were going to Tennessee as that is where they went on their honeymoon.

      “Bye, Laura,” her father said as he and her mother left for Tennessee.

      “Bye, Mom and Dad,” she told them.

She watched them get in the car and drive away. Laura then went to her bedroom, got a razorblade, sat on the floor by the toilet and tried to commit suicide.

      “Mom and Dad hate me because I am a lesbian. They will be glad I am gone,” she cried.

      “I am glad I failed at that,” Laura said as she started the four-wheeler.

She thought about that day. She remembered waking up in the hospital with her wrist bandaged and restrained. She also saw the catheter inside of her and tried to pull it out. The nurse told Laura not to pull it out.

      “I could have been dead now. But, Mom forgot her phone and they came back.”

Laura rode the four-wheeler about forty-five minutes. She parked it in the same place. Laura went back in to watch TV. The phone rang. It was the Scottsburg store.

      “Hello,” her father said.

He handed the phone to Laura.

      “Hello,” Laura said.

      “This is Casey. I am the manager from the Scottsburg store. Laura, I just pulled up your application for the general manager position. Can you come in at 3 o’clock today?” he said.

      “Absolutely,” she said.

      “You’ll be here about two hours,” Casey said.

      “I will certainly be there,” Laura said.

Laura then hung up. She told her father about her interview. He was excited for her.

      “Dad, I am so glad Mom forgot her phone six years ago,” Laura told him.

      “I am glad, too. We almost lost you,” he almost cried.

Laura went to find something to wear to her interview. She thought it would look more professional to wear a skirt instead of jeans.

      “Maybe, I’ll find a hot woman,” Laura said to herself.

Laura then decided to sit back on the couch until she got ready for her interview.

      “I have a feeling I won’t be training at Scottsburg,” Laura said to her father.

      “I have no idea,” he said.

Laura was excited as she really wanted to be a*****e manager. She had a 2005 Chevy Cobalt that she loved but it had 160,000 miles on it.

      “If I get this job, I can afford to replace the struts,” Laura said to herself.

Laura decided to take a nap for a couple of hours.

When she woke up. She went to her bedroom and took all her clothes off. As she went to the bathroom, she looked at the toilet and was thankful her life was saved by her parents.

      “I wonder which store I will be training at,” Laura said to herself.

Laura was hoping it would be either Madison or Scottsburg.

      “It’ll probably be Madison,” Laura said to herself.

She then finished her shower. Laura went to her room and put on her clothes for her interview. She decided to also use perfume. Laura left for her interview at about 2:20.

      “I don’t want to be late,” she said to her father.

      “I understand. You look nice,” he told his daughter.

She got in her car and went to Scottsburg. On the way there, she happened to look at her phone and saw there was an LGBT parade in New Albany later that week.

      “I am so tired of feeling inferior to others,” Laura said to herself.

When she got to Speedway, she decided to fill her car up with gas. She also got a few soft drinks. A man in a black shirt was ringing Laura up. There also was a woman with red hair with a notepad.

      “I wonder who that is,” Laura asked herself.

Laura scanned her reward card and got her gas. After she got her gas, she pulled around to park next to the building. She walked back in and asked for Casey.

      “That’s me,” he smiled.

Casey escorted Laura to the back office. The redheaded woman followed her also.

      “How’s your day going? Laura, this is Robyn, our district manager.

Laura shook her hand and said that it was nice to meet her. All three sat down and Robyn closed the office door.

Robyn asked Laura to tell her about herself and why she wants to work at Speedway.

      “Well, I love working with customers and I like interacting with them.”

      “What would you do if you saw an employee doing something dishonest?” Casey asked Laura.

      “I would call them in the office and ask them to explain why the person did that,” She told Robyn and Casey.

      “Okay, what is a hardship you went through and how did you overcome it?” Robyn asked Laura.

      “Oh, my god,” Laura said to herself.

      “I don’t like to talk about this. But this happened six years ago. My parents went to Tennessee to celebrate their honeymoon. As soon as they left, I got a razorblade and went to the bathroom. I tried to commit suicide.”

      “Why did you try to do that?” Robyn asked.

      “It was because I am a lesbian and thought my parents would be better off without me. What helped me through it was being in that hospital bed with a bandage on my wrist and my hands and feet restrained. I was twenty-four years old and fighting for my life.

      “Okay, I have some testing on the computer for you to do,” Robyn told her.

Robyn and Casey left the office and let Laura start her testing. She had to do one with how to discipline employees. One of the tests was how to handle money.

      “I need a coffee,” Laura said to herself.

She went to get a coffee a went back to finish her testing. Laura also got a pack of cigarettes.

“There’s a few hot women in these videos,” Laura said to herself.

After another hour, Laura finished her testing. She was nervous about what Robyn would say. Robyn asked if Laura was done.

            “Yeah,” I am finished.

Robyn and Casey went back to the office.

            “Well, can you start training Monday at Madison?” Robyn asked her.

            “Absolutely,” Laura said.

            “You will be training with Tyler. He is the store manager over there. That store opens at 5:00 A.M. You will be there about three weeks.”

            “I will be there,” Laura said.

Laura then left and went to Wal-Mart to get her oil changed. She pulled around to the back of the store. Laura went in and told the attendant what she wants done. He told her it will be about an hour. Laura gave him her keys and she went shopping. She went to the electronics department.

            “Guys keep looking at my legs, they will be in for a surprise. I am not interested,” Laura said to herself.

Laura saw a laptop she liked. She also like the price. It also had enough memory that she would not have to upgrade anytime soon. She had to find an associate to open the cabinet.

            “Can I help you?” the older man asked.

            “There is a laptop I like. I want to get it.”

Laura showed him where it was. He opened the cabinet. He told Laura she would have to pay for it in electronics. Laura then paid for her laptop and waited until her car was finished. She walked back to automotive to see if her car was inside.

            “They just put it on the lift,” she said to herself.

Laura felt a pinch on her butt. She turned around.

            “Somebody stop him,” Laura said as he ran away.

A department manager tripped him as he ran out of the area.

            “Ow, what the f**k was that for?” he screamed.

            “I saw you pinch her butt,” the department manager said.

            “Ma’am, do you want to press charges?” he asked.

            “No, if he doesn’t do it again,” Laura said.

Laura then left to get other items. Laura was only thinking about being a manager in training.

            “I am so nervous about running a*****e on my own.”

She decided to call her father.

            “Dad, I got the job. I start Monday morning at the Madison store.

            “That’s great. Mom would be happy for you.”

Laura was also excited to try her new laptop when she gets home. Laura also needed pantyhose. She then heard her name called and went back to the automotive department. Laura had to wait as the person who called her left the counter. She saw a young woman also waiting on her car.

            “Hi, Sexy,” Laura said to her.

            “Hi,” the woman said.

She asked Laura if she was waiting on her car.

            “Yeah, having my oil changed.” Laura said.

            “I’m Katie,” the woman said.

            “I’m Laura,” she told Katie.

Laura and Katie wondered if anyone was there to wait on them.

            “Katie, are you doing anything after you get your car?”

            “No, why?” she asked Laura.

            “Would you like to go up to Subway and get something to eat?”

            “We can,” Katie told her.

The older lady asked which one was Katie. She got Katie’s work order and gave her her keys. She also rang up Katie and told her the total. Katie then left to get her car. She told Laura that she would meet her at the Subway in front of the store.

Laura then paid for her oil change. Laura could feel her breasts getting hard. She then left to get her car. Laura saw Katie as she was getting in her car.

After a few minutes, Laura met Katie at the Subway.

            “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” Katie asked Laura.

            “I’m not sure where I saw you before,” Laura joked.

They went in together. They each paid for their own.

            “So, what do you like doing when you are not working?” Katie asked Laura.

            “I am actually unemployed, but I had an interview for a manager’s position,” Laura told Katie.

            “A manager’s position here?” Katie asked.

            “No, at a gas station,” Laura said.

Laura didn’t want to say which gas station as she hardly knows Katie.

            “Where do you work?” Laura asked Katie.

Katie said she worked at a factory in Scottsburg. Laura crossed her legs. After a few more minutes, Laura and Katie finished eating. They traded phone numbers. Laura put Katie’s phone number in her phone.

            “I hope to see you later,” Katie said to her.

            “I do, too,” Laura said flirtatiously.

Katie and Laura then went their separate ways. Laura hurried home and wanted to try out her new laptop. She also thought about asking Katie if she wanted to go to the LGBT parade on Friday. Laura got home about thirty minutes later. She got her things and went in the house. Laura took her laptop out of the box and plugged it in to let it charge. It was only about 50% charged.

            “I am so happy to start my job on Monday. I have to be there at 5 A.M.,” Laura said to her father.

For a moment, Laura was less upset about being a lesbian.

            “Dad, I met someone at Wal-Mart while I was getting my oil changed. Her name is Katie. She works at a factory in Scottsburg.”

            “I am happy for you about that and you have a new job, He told his daughter.”

It was about 7 P.M. and still eighty-five degrees outside. Laura sat outside to spend time with her father.

            “I am very nervous about being a manager in training,” Laura told her father.

            “You will do fine,” he said.

Laura didn’t mind going to the Madison store. She was more nervous about what store Robyn would give her.

            “I would be happy with whichever store the district manager gives me. But, I would prefer Scottsburg, Madison or Clarksville. Seymour and Columbus would be too far to drive.

            “You’ll have to take whichever store they give you,” he said.

            “I know,” Laura said.

Laura decided to go inside and watch TV. She put her phone in her room. She took off her shoes and stretched out on the couch. Laura also decided to go to the Madison Speedway the next day and introduce herself to everyone there. Laura went outside to sit with her father and enjoy the weather. Laura knew it would only be about seventy for the overnight low. She went in to get something to drink. She also had some clothes to wash. She also went to check to see if her new laptop was charged. It was about 75% charged. Laura unplugged it.

            “I need to pee,” she said to herself.

When she finished, she got something to drink and took it outside. Laura went back inside to watch TV. Her father went back inside. He took a shower. Laura waited until about 10 PM to go to bed. She thought about Katie and wondered if she wanted to go to the LGBT parade in two more days.

Laura’s phone chimed.

            “Hey, Laura,” Katie texted.

            “Hi, I was just thinking about you,” Laura texted.

            “There is a parade in New Albany on Friday. Would you like to go?” Katie asked.

            “I was just getting ready to ask you. So, would you…?” Laura returned.

            “We can meet somewhere and go.” Katie said.

Laura suggested that they meet when they both get there. She spent the next ten minutes flirting with Katie. Laura was getting undressed and getting ready to take a shower.

            “Katie is so beautiful. I would love to get to know her better,” Laura said as she was showering.

Laura was also thinking about her upcoming job at Speedway. She was nervous about telling everyone she is gay. Laura finished her shower a few minutes later. Laura decided to play around on her new computer.

            “I need a lot of updates,” Laura said to herself.

The screen went through all the introduction steps.

Laura then though about how sexy Katie was. Laura took off her panties and played with herself. Katie was the only woman Laura wanted to know.

            “That guy who pinched my butt was not sexy. I wonder what he would think if he knew I was a lesbian.” Laura said to herself.

After a few minutes, Laura washed her hands and brushed her teeth. She went to bed shortly thereafter.

The next morning, Laura woke up about 8 AM. She was happy knowing her manager’s job starts in just a few days. Laura checked the balance of her unemployment card and saw that she had about $800.00 still on it.

            “Wow, I didn’t know I still had that much.”

She also looked at her bank account and saw she had about $400.00 in there.

Laura was happy to know that $1,200.00 would be more than enough to hold her over until her first paycheck.

            “Not sure what to do today. I wonder what Katie is doing today,” Laura thought to herself.

Laura decided to wear a light pink blouse and denim skirt. She decided not to wear pantyhose as it was going to be in the nineties.

            “Morning, Sweetie,” her father said to her.

            “Morning, Dad,” Laura said to her.

Laura asked what he was going to do. She asked him the same. She told him about the parade the next day.

            “Just be careful not to get arrested.” he told her.

            “I was going to go to the Madison Speedway and introduce myself.”

Laura decided to watch TV for a few hours.

            “Those women on TV look like sluts in those short skirts,” Laura said to herself.

After the show was over, Laura decided to go to Wal-Mart and shop while she was bored and unemployed.

            “I am going to be so nervous on Monday, not knowing anyone. I hope I don’t make too many mistakes.”

Laura needed a pack of cigarettes. She decided to get them at Speedway.

            “I wish these dumbass people wouldn’t tailgate me.”

Laura let off the gas. She had a truck tailgating her. She could not see the trucks front bumper. Laura had to get some stamps. She stopped at the Hanover post office for stamps. She went into the lobby.

            “How are you today?” said the male clerk.

            “Not doing too bad. I become a manager in training at Speedway on Monday.”

            “That sounds exciting,” he said.

            “I need two books of stamps. Do you have any rainbow stamps?” Laura said.

The clerk said he didn’t have any rainbow stamps. Laura bought two books of flag stamps. She had to go out to the car to get her purse. As she left, she had a man, about eighteen years old, flirt with her.

            “Hey, sexy. I like that skirt,” he said.

            “I am way too old for you, and by the way, I have a girlfriend,” Laura said.

            “Slut,” he said to her.

Laura got in her car and left the post office.

            “Maybe, these guys will get the hint that I am not interested.”

There were guys pulled up next to her making obscene gestures. Laura looked away.

A few minutes later, Laura had to use the bathroom. She pulled into the Speedway parking lot and went inside holding herself.

            “I really have to pee,” she said to herself.

The bathroom door was locked.

            “Please hurry, I am going to explode,” Laura said to herself.

When the woman came out, Laura almost knocked her out of the way. Laura pulled down her skirt and sat down.

            “Ahh, that’s better.”

When she was finished, she went to get some soft drinks and some chips. A man with long hair and a black shirt waited on her.

            “Are you Tyler?” Laura asked.

            “Yeah,” he said with concern.

Laura introduced herself to Tyler. She mentioned that she would be starting at 5 AM on Monday.

            “It’s nice to meet you, Laura. Are you related to Lisa over at the Scottsburg store? She is an assistant manager.

            “No, I don’t know her. Why do you ask?”

            “You look like you could be her sister.”

            “I don’t think I have met her.”

Laura got some coffee. She also met another employee, Chris. Tyler introduced Laura to everyone.

Laura also nervously said hi to everyone.

            “Hi,” Chris said flirtatiously.

            “Hi, sir,” Laura said.

Laura turned around, thinking Chris was going to pinch her butt.

            “Every time I wear a short skirt, guys want to pinch my butt. Really? I’m sure Katie wouldn’t like that.”

Laura then asked Tyler if she could look at the schedule. Laura was scheduled Monday through Friday 5 AM to 3 PM. Tyler told her that she would train at his store for three weeks. After that, Laura would likely go to the Clarksville store. Laura got her items and left. Laura then got back in and started her car. She saw two men get into a fight right next to her car. Laura also decided it is best to get out of there.

            “I would like to meet Lisa,” Laura said to herself.

The only thing Laura didn’t look forward to was getting up at 3 AM.

            “Maybe Katie will be more attracted to me in my uniform,” Laura thought to herself.

Laura then went to Wal-Mart to shop. She needed to get some shampoo. She also got a 12 pack of Dial soap. Laura ran into a woman she went to school with.

            “Christie, how are you doing?” Laura asked.

            “I am doing well,” Christie said.

            “I am doing well also. I start at Speedway Monday as a manager in training.

            “Oh, that would be exciting,” Christie said.

            “I also just started seeing someone,” Laura told Christie.

            “Oh, you have a boyfriend?” Christie asked.

            “Yeah, he is really nice. He’s only twenty-two,” Laura lied.

            “Oh, a younger man?” Christie asked flirtatiously.

Laura tried to hide the fact from Christie that she is gay.

            “I am pregnant. It’s a little boy,” Christie said with excitement.

            “That’s great,” Laura said.

            “We should get together sometime for lunch,” Christie said.

            “I’d like to introduce you to ‘him’,” Laura said.

Laura then went shopping around the store. She needed address labels also. Laura also needed a new bra. She needed panties.

Laura spent about an hour at Wal-Mart. When she checked out, she saw a man she went to school with. Jerry, who is now a Madison police officer. He was not in uniform.

            “Hi, Laura. How are you?” Jerry asked her.

            “I am good. I start Monday at Speedway. I am going to be a manager in training. I heard after three weeks, they are going to give me my own store. I understand I would be transferring to the Clarksville store.”

            “That’s great. Hey, Laura, I was wondering if you would like to go out on a date sometime.” Jerry asked.

            “I’m very flattered, but, Jerry, I am seeing someone. I am sorry.”

            “Okay, I was just wondering.”

Laura then paid for her items and left.

            “I have almost no life. Wal-Mart is the most exciting thing I ever do.”

Laura’s phone rang. It was Katie.

            “Hey, sexy. What are you wearing?” Laura said to her.

            “What do want me to wear?” Katie asked.

            “I’m wearing a short denim skirt and a pink blouse.”

            “I’m really getting turned on,” Katie said to her girlfriend.

Laura asked what Katie was doing later.

            “I’m not doing anything later.” Katie said.

“I’ll have to talk to you later. I’m driving now.” Laura said.

“Bye, Laura.”

“By, Katie.”

Laura then went home. She decided she did not want anything to eat.

            “There is, like, nothing to do at home,” she said to herself.

            “I hate these bumps. I need to replace my damn struts.”

Laura decided to go to Big O Tires and have them look at what it would cost. She pulled into the parking lot and asked a technician.

            “Which car is it?” the technician asked.

            “The Cobalt,” Laura said.

She then gave him the keys. Laura walked outside and the technician pushed on the back bumper. It bounced for two seconds after he stopped. He done the same to the front bumper.

            “Oh, they all feel like they are bad,” The technician said.

He then asked Laura if he could pull it into the garage.

            “Oh, yes, certainly,” she told him.

The technician pulled the car into the garage. Laura went back in, sat down and watched them put her car onto the lift. Her phone rang. It was her father.

            “Hi, Dad. I am up here at Big O having the look at my struts just to see how much it will be to replace all of them. I’m not having any work done today.”

            “Can you go across the bridge and get me some cigarettes?”

            “Okay,” she said.

Laura waited another ten minutes. She saw them lower the car and drive it back to a parking space.

Laura went up to the counter. The technician printed an estimate of what it would cost.

            “It appears with parts and labor and everything will be $682.00.”

            “Oh, wow. I love the car. I am supposed to start as a manager in training at Speedway on Monday.

            “Okay, some of the guys may see you over there.”

            “I understand I am just training at that store. After my training, I go to the Clarksville store.”

Laura then thanked him for the estimate and left. She then went across the bridge to Milton, Kentucky. She got her father a carton of cigarettes. Laura wasn’t sure if she wanted to go to the LGBT parade tomorrow or not.

            “I may just see if Katie wants to go get something to eat instead.”

Laura needed a cigarette. She also turned the air conditioner a little colder. The thermometer on her dash said it was ninety degrees outside.

            “It’s either too hot to wear underwear or I’m getting hot thinking about Katie,” Laura said to herself.

            “I’ll leave my panties on for now.”

There was a group of young men in a car stopped at a red light. They were making obscene gestures at her.

            “Hey, baby. Wanna go out?” The front passenger asked.

            “Yeah, but not with you, p*****t,” Laura said to him.

            “How ‘bout me?” asked the driver.

            “I like you as much as I like your friend. Not at all. I am way too old for you.”

            “How old are you?” the passenger asked.

            “Old enough to know not to ask a woman her age. I’m thirty.”

            “Were close. We’re twenty-two,” The driver said.

The light turned green. Laura left and they turned off in a different direction.

            “Maybe they can go out with Lisa. I don’t even know her and people think I’m related to her.”

Laura hit a bump and her boobs bounced and hit her. She looked at the odometer.

            “160,376. f**k this, I’ll spend the $700.00 to replace my struts,” Laura said to herself.

Laura decided to wait another week until she had time to take the car in. She was still debating about whether to go to the parade tomorrow.

            “I’m taking the car in tomorrow.” Laura said to herself.

Laura went home and took in what she bought.

            “How was your trip?” her father asked her.

            “Okay, I had twenty-two-year-old guys hitting on me. Did you know there’s an assistant manager at the Scottsburg store that looks a lot like me?” Laura said.

            “How do you know?” her father said.

            “The manager at the Madison store said he thought I was related to her.”

            “Oh, wow,” he said.

Laura told her father that she wasn’t going to the parade tomorrow.

            “Why’s that?” he asked.

            “I am going to replace my struts tomorrow. Big O gave me an estimate.”

She showed him the estimate.

            “Almost $700.00? That really does not sound bad.”

She decided to go in when they open. Her father agreed to drive her to drop off the car. She said that the work should not take more than an hour.

            “If it takes much longer than that, I’ll call you.”

Although he loved his daughter very much, he had trouble accepting that his daughter is a lesbian. Laura wishes her mother was still alive.

            “Dad, I wish Mom was still here to see me getting a general manager’s position,” Laura cried.

            “She would be very proud of you, Laura. I don’t think so. I know so.”

Laura decided to play around on her new laptop. She like being on the internet. Her phone rang.

            “Hi Sexy,” Katie said.

            “Hi, Katie. I was just thinking about you.”

Laura decided that she wasn’t going to the LGBT parade the next day.

            “What’s wrong, sweetie?” Katie asked flirtatiously.

            “I need the struts on my car replaced. It’ll be about $700.00. I hit a bump and my t**s bounced up and hit me. I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt. It has about 160,000 miles on it.”

            “That sounds sexy…I mean painful,” Katie said.

Katie told Laura that she volunteered for overtime at her job so she can’t go either.

            “Maybe Saturday we can meet somewhere and have dinner together,” Laura said to Katie.

Laura said she wished she could qualify for a car loan.

            “My car isn’t the best either. It’s a 2008 Pontiac G6. It has about 200,000 miles. But, I still love it.”

            “Katie, did I tell you I am going to be training to be a general manager at Speedway?”

            “You told me but you didn’t say where.”

Laura’s father asked who she was talking to.

            “I’m talking to Katie,” she said.

            “My dad asked who I was talking to,” Laura said to her girlfriend.

            “I will talk to you later, sweetie.”

            “Bye.”

Laura then went back in the living room to watch TV. Laura asked her father if he could accept her being gay.

            “You are my daughter. I accept you no matter what,” he said.

            “I feel a lot better,” Laura said.

Laura felt a little more comfortable telling her father that she was going out to eat with Katie. She laid on the couch and decided to take a nap.

She woke up two hours later. Her father washed dishes and clothes.

            “That reminds me I need to wash my clothes.”

Laura found her shortest, little black dress to wear on her date with Katie. She also tried to decide when to take her car in to replace the struts. Laura felt as soon as Big O opened would be best.

Laura and her father watched TV until they went to bed. She was getting sleepy as it was late.

            “Good night, Sweetie,” her father said to her.

            “Good night, Dad,” she said to him.

Laura felt things in her life were going right. She has met someone to share her life with. She is also happy that she will be in a manager’s position.

She played on her computer for about an hour until bed.

            “Katie was so hot when I met her. I would love to get married to her,” Laura said as she went to sleep.
