Exam Results

Harley - POV - {Larissa} I stepped out of the room, alarmed, and transformed my hand into sharp claws. The sound of crickets and air blowing through the woods was all I could hear when I opened the door. I sniffed the air, but there was nothing. No sinister or rotten smell of rogues. I looked around once more, relaxed my hand, and shifted my hand back to my human form rather than the claw. I shut the door and locked it, taking a few deep breaths. I looked in the mirror and saw that my features and facial structure were more round than oval. I looked completely different from Larissa. My disguise was in place, and I sighed in relief, worried about the message the Moon Goddess had given me. “Stella,” I called out to my wolf in desperation to talk to her, but there was no reply. Though I felt her energy coursing through my body, I sat back on the bed, trying to jog my memory of the book and important events, but nothing matched the current scenario. I thought I had the upper hand because I knew the future, but it seemed not to be the case anymore. The next day, I dressed in casual attire and strolled toward Reynolds’. He led me into his apartment, where Rachel was on the screen with her poker face. I felt nervous today; it was my results day, and my heart beat faster. What if I didn’t do well in the exams? I would be homeless and penniless, and Alpha Ren was hunting me down. I didn’t know what Alpha Ren wanted from me, but his crazy lover, Abigail, was trying to kill me. “Are you ready for your results?” Reynolds asked. I nodded and waited as he enjoyed keeping the suspense, which annoyed me a lot. “You didn’t do well on some questions; do you think you will pass the exam or not?” Sweat trickled down the back of my neck, and I I remembered having goofed up some questions. “Reynold, spill it already. I have a meeting to attend,” Rachel added coldly. “Fine, you guys are joy kills,” I glared at him. “You have passed with flying colors.” I sighed in relief, and my lips curled up. Reynolds and Rachel had a smile too, and it shocked me to see Rachel smile; she never reacted at all. “Don’t look so surprised,” Rachel growled as she caught me gawking at her in surprise, and Reynolds chuckled at the sarcastic comment. Rachel left and glared at Reynolds, who was still grinning at me. “Jerk,” I hissed. Reynold led me through the busy streets until I saw magic encircling the clinic. I knew it was an invisible spell that only magical creatures could visit the clinic, and humans could only see it as a small roofed house. Reynold opened the clinic, and I noticed vials containing potions, some of which held medication. There was also a garden in which all the magical plants were cultivated, a bed to check on patients, as well as a desk, a chair, and a notebook on the desk. “Dr. Larissa, here are your doctor’s coat and keys to the clinic,” Reynold said, helping me put on the new white coat with my name tag and handing me the key. The feeling of achieving something after struggling in the world for six months put me at ease, knowing that money wouldn’t be a problem anymore from now on. But I still needed to keep myself alive for six more months, and then I would be back to my boring human life, and yet, I would be happy to go back. Reynold had left after instructing me on how to record patients' details and health statuses on the magical notepad, which Rachel would have access to, along with the payment log. A medical receptionist named Nissa would assist me with scheduling appointments with patients. As I settled behind the desk and looked at the appointment logs on the schedule notepad, I saw that it had already lined up two patients. The first patient was a female Fae who had issues with her solar plexus chakra point, which in human terminology meant she had a kidney infection. The next patient came in, and fear gripped me as I recognized Abigail, dressed stylishly and flipping her hair back as she walked in like a model. She stared at my face, and I gulped.
