Alchemy town

Harley - POV {Larissa} The blinding light enveloped my body just as Alpha Ren reached out to grab me. My body floated in the air as the castle hallway disappeared, and I landed hard on the cold ground below. “Ouch,” I groaned, rubbing my sore back. Blinking away the bright spots in my vision, I surveyed my surroundings. I appeared to be in a dark forest, and a low groan caught my attention. “Reynold!” I rushed to his side, finding him injured and bleeding from his hand. “What happened? How did you get hurt?” “It was your crazy mate and his beta, Owen,” Reynold explained, wincing as I applied some healing magic to his wound. “They tried to get a hold of you, but I stopped them just in time. The vortex pulled me away before they could do any more damage.” I winced at the sight of the deep claw marks on Reynold’s arm. “I’m sorry, Reynold. I should have been more honest with you about my situation. Do you think they’ll be able to track us down here? And what about Rachel? Is she safe?” “Rachel is tough as nails,” Reynold assured me. “She’ll be fine. And as for this place, it naturally masks everyone’s identity. Alpha Ren won’t be able to find us here.” I breathed a sigh of relief, but my anxiety quickly resurfaced. “But what about me? Before, I could hide my appearance from Alpha Ren because I was in wolf form. But now that he knows what I look like, won’t he be able to track me down if he sends spies?” I said. “Then, how did he know your name?” asked Reynold. “He must have picked up my scent from home and asked to verify who stayed, and that’s how he could have figured out my name.” I sighed in frustration. “Why are you trying to escape this mate bond? I’ve never met a she-wolf who rejected her mate, especially an Alpha,” asked Reynold, his gaze mixed with amusement and curiosity. “I don’t want to disclose my reason. I just don’t want that man to be my mate,” I growled. “Hmm... I wonder why,” Reynold persisted in questioning me. I glared at him and he sighed. “What about my exam? I haven’t passed yet. Rachel, can you send me to Alchemy town?” I asked. “Rachel has been monitoring your progress, and she knows you will pass,” replied Reynold. “So I don’t have to take the exam then,” I said, relieved. But Reynold’s devilish smirk made me cringe. “I’ll still take the exam and then take you to the clinic,” he added. As we arrived in the town, which was deserted as people were sleeping, I followed Reynold’s lead and saw two houses. Reynold gave me the key to my place, and he entered his own house. I looked at my well-decorated room, which had extra sets of clothes in my wardrobe. As I settled into bed, my mind raced with events, and I wondered how Rachel was doing. **** Reynold - POV “I need to connect with Rachel and see if she’s alive or dead by the hand of Alpha,” I muttered. As a projection came to life, Rachel’s cold eyes met mine, startling me. “So much confidence you have in me. I am touched,” she added with a smirk. I stared at her, and she appeared unharmed. “How did you tame the mad Alpha?” I asked, still confused. Alpha Ren always gets what he wants, and we were trying to hide his mate, Larissa. “I reasoned with him. I recorded Larissa’s rejection and clarified that if he harmed me, he’d face consequences. He had no choice but to leave,” Rachel explained. “I still can’t believe he left quietly,” I said. “Alpha had to leave because Larissa stayed with us. Even if he wanted to harm me, I could show the court of mystical the evidence and wage war on his pack. He won’t risk that, but he’ll surely scheme to get his mate back,” Rachel said. I had a sinking feeling that Alpha wouldn’t give up on Larissa. “Hmmm... I will take Larissa’s test and report her results,” I said. “I know she will pass. Show her the clinic and call the right people to promote it,” Rachel suggested. “And Reynold, I suggest you don’t tangle with Larissa. Alpha Ren will have your life if he catches you.” “I’m not interested in her,” I said defensively. “Are you lying to yourself or me? I think you’re lying to yourself, and it’s good you can keep a distance from her that way,” Rachel said, smirking. I glared at her as she turned off the projection. Larissa is still Alpha Ren’s mate. Why would she reject her alpha mate? I am nothing to compare to Alpha Ren. “You’re Alpha too, are you forgetting?” My wolf, Lucifer, reminded me. “We’re exiled for killing our mate and half of our pack, thanks to you and the curse,” I hissed. “Reynold,” I heard Larissa’s frantic voice.
