Chapter 3
Karl had been lying. He was nervous. Going back to school had been a great fear of his. There had been many times over the years when the principal had messaged him about going back to give talks to the current students about his life as a professional baseball player and about being a cop, Karl either said no or didn’t reply back at all. Even walking down the familiar hallways had him coming out in a cold sweat.
High school wasn’t what it was cracked up to be. Karl had been in prisons to interview suspects and he preferred going into a prison than going into his school. He had a sudden vision of himself as a freshman being tripped by the quarterback, who was the main instigator for Karl’s bullying. Even after the guy left, he made sure Karl was targeted by the football team. N
