“Are you doing all right?” Melissa asked as they drove to the first event of the reunion—dinner at a local restaurant. This would be followed by a dance at the school’s gymnasium.
“Okay. A little nervous. I haven’t seen most of these guys in years.”
“Who are you most excited about seeing?”
Dwayne’s image immediately popped into Shay’s mind. He squelched it. “My old teammates, of course, Tommy, and Lilly, I guess.”
“Should I be jealous?” Melissa asked with a laugh.
Shay laughed along with her. “Oh, yes, definitely.”
A while later they entered the restaurant. A large poster greeted them.
