Chapter Twenty-Four
Judith and Felicity were waiting for a new recruit to attend an initiation session.
“Do you ever feel we’ve been through this before?” Felicity asked.
“Well, of course we have,” said Judith.
“I mean, it’s not new any more, is it?”
“The girl is new,” said Judith. “Every girl is different.”
“But not that different. At least, not the ones we see,” Felicity said.
“So are you saying you are bored with it?” Judith said.
Felicity didn’t want to answer this directly. She was always afraid that Judith would be disappointed with her. “Perhaps we need something different. A challenge.”
“Such as?”
“You should take on an impossible project.”
“Such as?”
Felicity was thoughtful. “Maybe you should try to turn someone whom we both agree is impossible.:
