Just a Dream...

My wolf must have finally taken control, when I woke up I was naked and lying in the middle of the woods. My Wolf was still unavailable. I couldn't feel her at all, was she shutting me out? I sat up and looked around, I didn't see anything I knew. I smelled the air, but I didn't recognize any familiar scents. It was almost dawn, I could see light beginning to fill the eastern sky. "Where are you Ayla?" I said out loud. And then last night came flooding back. Dylan said I was his mate? That's not possible! Right? I'd know. I'd feel something for him. My wolf wouldn't want him dead. I tried to remember what happened next. I attacked him! I turned right there on the deck and I attacked him! Did I hurt him? Was Dylan Wilde dead? "Well, hello there little wolf." Said a strange but soft voice. A red haired woman came from out of nowhere. She was wearing a long purple dress and her long wavy hair was down nearly touching the ground. I suddenly remembered I was completely naked and covered my breasts. "Here, I've brought you a dress." She handed me a gown similar to her own. "How did you know I was here?" I asked confused, how did she just happen to know I was here and that I needed clothes? And she knew I was a wolf, but I didn't get the scent of a wolf from her... "I seen you come in a dream, I'm a seer." She turned her back so that I could stand and quickly pull on the dress. I wondered how far I had made it from Dylan's party. This area didn't smell at all familiar. I looked down at myself in the dress, I'd never even owned a dress before, it felt weird, I felt like I still wasn't fully dressed. "Maybe you can tell me where I am?" "I can tell you that you're not near Dylan." She replied not answering my question. "Okay." I didn't know what else to say. How did she know about Dylan? Maybe she'd know if he was dead. Maybe she'd know why my wolf wasn't responding to me... I followed the red haired woman through some trees, I couldn't see a path or any markers. How did she know where she was going? After what felt like forever, a path appeared and lead us towards an open field. Once in the clearing I could see houses, small one story cottages with pyramid like roofs. Each one was decorated with different types of flowers painted onto the siding. "Come on, this one is my home." She said going into the cottage with lavender growing around it. I followed her wondering what she knew, I'd never met a seer, I wasn't even sure if they were real. Once inside she poured me some tea and we both sat down at a small round wooden table. She closed her eyes and seemed to be in a trance of some kind. She kind of hummed and then put out her hands. I didn’t know what she wanted me to do? What was she doing? "Take my hands little wolf." She ordered opening one eye. Her one green eye looking right at me kind of scared me even though she seemed really nice. I took her hands without argument. She closed her eyes again and began to hum some more. "Can you-" "Just be patient." She said calmly. I waited, watching her hands hold mine, they were starting to get kind of sweaty. I was getting uncomfortable. What was she trying to see? "Okay now we can talk." She said letting go of my hands and continuing to make her tea. Two spoonfuls of sugar and a lot of creamer later she sighed with contentment. "So.. What was you doing?" "I needed to know that you had a truly good soul and I needed to speak to your wolf of course." She said simply. "And?" "And what?" "Is it? And did they speak to you?" "Yes it spoke with me." "So..” "Did you know that the spirit of a wolf is reborn when it’s host dies, it is simply a spirit that chose to live within you. And you my dear, you have your father's wolf within you." "But her name is Sapphira? She told me that the day I turned thirteen." "The spirit of your wolf often chooses a name to compliment your own spirit. Sapphira is a name to represent your wolf form. You have blue eyes even in wolf form, most wolves have gold, amber, or black eyes.." She explained as she blew softly over her hot tea before sipping it. "I don't understand." I began to wonder if I really knew anything about werewolves. I'd only come into contact with others like me a couple of times, they'd usually just ignore me. On occasion I'd get a dirty look, but that was it. I only knew what Sapphira had told me and she didn't talk much. She was often angry, cursing other wolves anytime we were near one. Telling me to stay away anytime we would sense someone... "Yes you do, haven't ever wondered why you dream about his death?" "Because my wolf wants revenge." "Have you wondered why?" "Because my father was murdered." I stated. What did she mean, what other reason was there. I'd had that dream almost every night for the last five years. Of course I’d wondered how I knew. "But are the dreams real little wolf, keep up." She said softly. "I know they're real." I said looking down. I'd never even questioned that, I felt everything my mother had felt when she watched my father, her mate, die at the hands of the devil. That couldn't be just a dream... "Sapphira is trying to protect your heart, it doesn't want to watch you lose your mate too. Your father's spirit is afraid. So afraid that it would rather you never even have a mate, so that you can never feel that pain for real." "I don't believe that!" I said standing up. I wanted to run away from here, I couldn't listen to these lies. "Little wolf please believe me, those dreams are just that. Just dreams, nightmares your wolf and subconscious has created to protect you from the worst pain imaginable. The loss of a mate." Just a dream? How could it be just a dream? I ran out the door, I ran through the woods, this couldn't be happening. I attacked him. I hurt him. He could be dead. No. No, he wasn't dead. I would feel that right? He was strong. He was a child of the moon, same as me. He would be okay. I needed to find him, but how could I face him? After what I had done, he probably hates me now. He probably never wants to see me again.
