Close enough. It was around mid-afternoon when they first caught wind of the encampment. Burning trash. Fried food. Human waste. The group had been at this location for a while, and they weren’t very good at hiding their presence. Or perhaps they didn’t care? Whatever. The team of four had no problem getting close without detection. Their horses barely made a sound on the soft plains grass, and a series of basic hand signals allowed Dakota to communicate without words. When he finally saw the twenty or so bandits, he noted that the camp was filled with many different types of people: ages, races, and genders. They dressed and acted similarly, and at least half of them seemed to be drug users, too, but other than that? It looked like the various members could hail from literally anywhere.
